{"id":70783,"date":"2019-04-09T10:57:34","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T10:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog?p=70783"},"modified":"2021-03-29T15:27:31","modified_gmt":"2021-03-29T15:27:31","slug":"partypoker-confirms-bot-account-closures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/partypoker-confirms-bot-account-closures.html","title":{"rendered":"partypoker confirms 277 \u2018bot\u2019 account closures and $734,852.15 in redistributed funds between December 2018 and March 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Recently expanded Poker Fraud Team set up to protect players<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>partypoker can disclose it has closed <strong>277 \u2018bot\u2019 accounts between 1 December 2018 and 31 March 2019<\/strong> and <strong>redistributed $734,852.15 in associated funds<\/strong>, as it continues to address issues of fairness and strives to make the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\">poker site<\/a> a safer place to play.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Bots\u2019 are computer programs that are specially designed to play against human opponents or other pieces of software.<\/p>\n<p>partypoker continues to invest in resources aimed at safeguarding the safety of its players, spearheaded by <strong>a specialist Poker Fraud Team<\/strong> comprising a collection of former poker professionals who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and expertise to investigate suspicious activity and aid partypoker in ridding the poker site of unscrupulous accounts. Since 1 December 2018, over 75% of the account closures came as a result of detection by the new fraud team, and the site will continue to provide regular updates on the number of bot account closures.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Suspicious activity\u2019 can take many forms, signalling potential collusion between two or more players for example, and the use of bots or other prohibited software designed to give players an unfair advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Players are asked to contact the fraud team directly if they detect any suspicious activity at its online tables, by sending an email to <strong>reports@partypoker.com<\/strong>. partypoker promises to investigate all incidents reported.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/index\">Team partypoker\u2019s<\/a> <strong>Patrick Leonard<\/strong> said: \u201cTwo years ago it wouldn&#8217;t have been possible, but after seeing the security department first hand, the team working there and the tools they are using, I\u2019m very confident now that they can tackle people trying to play against the rules.
