The player known simply as &#8220;simba8787&#8221; may have a similar name to the Lion King, but they were the partypoker king on May 13th because simba8787 won two Championship events and walked away with an incredible $337,771!<\/p>\n<p>Keep reading to discover which partypoker players won some serious money on Day 8 of this amazing $40 million guaranteed poker festival.<\/p>\n<h1>$40 million POWERFEST: The Story So Far<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Event played: 240<\/li>\n<li>Events remaining: 126<\/li>\n<li>Money awarded: $25,402,267<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>$40 million POWERFEST Day 8 Highlights<\/h1>\n<p><strong>POWERFEST #42-SHR: $1M Gtd Championship Event NL Hold\u2019em<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buy-in: $5,200<\/li>\n<li>Entries: 248<\/li>\n<li>Prize pool: $1,240,000<\/li>\n<li>ITM: 32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>POWERFEST #42-SHR: $1M Gtd Championship Event NL Hold\u2019em<\/strong> smashed its guarantee by $240,000 thanks to 248 players buying in for $5,200. This meant an incredible $252,836 awaited the eventual champion<\/p>\n<p>Several members of <strong>Team partypoker<\/strong> entered this massive event, but none of them reached the money, sadly. <strong>Philipp \u201cPhil_Guissem\u201d Gruissem<\/strong> and <strong>Joni \u201cJJouhki\u201d Jouhkimainen<\/strong> came close, falling in 51st and 45th place with 32 places paid.<\/p>\n<p>The least anyone at the eight-handed final table could win was $28,520 and this is the sum awarded to <strong>\u201cHahaha_Owned\u201d<\/strong>. By the time there were only three players remaining, a haul of $130,820 was guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSTORTjavlaGL\u201d<\/strong> fell in third-place and banked $130,820. This left <strong>\u201caLiNeNok1617\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cMalakastyle\u201d<\/strong> to lock horns heads-up for the title. This would turn out to be siimba877\u2019s first of two POWERFEST Championship Event victories of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Several Team partypoker members made it into the money places. <strong>Richard \u201cRichyDubini\u201d Dubini<\/strong> (168th for $1,450), <strong>Joao \u201cjoaosimaobh\u201d Simao<\/strong> (166th for $1,450), Joni \u201cJJouhki\u201d Jouhkimainen (109th for $1,750), and <strong>Renato \u201crenatonomura\u201d Nomura<\/strong> (73rd for $2,050) being those diamond-sporting in the money players.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cDerek Dumpster\u201d<\/strong> was the first casualty of the final table.
