Jon Kristian Kyte<\/strong> has been crowned the 2017 partypoker LIVE Nordic Poker Championships Main Event<\/strong> champion after he topped a star-studded field of 396 entrants to scoop the \u20ac240,000 first place prize.<\/p>\n

The money bubble burst on Day 3 when three Finnish players clashed on Table 4. Jukka Parvianen<\/strong> opened the betting with a raise, Heikki Piira<\/strong> three-bet all-in and Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong> flat-called the all-in bet. The action folded back to Parvianen and he moved all-in. Joukimainen instantly called.<\/p>\n

Joukimainen turned over pocket aces, Piira turned over a pair of kings and Parvianen showed ace-king. The aces held, which meant both Piira and Parvianen bust and the money bubble burst, locking up at least \u20ac4,000 for the surviving players.<\/p>\n

The likes of Peter Eichhardt<\/strong>, Henrik Hecklen<\/strong>, Kimmo Kurko<\/strong>, Jannick Wrang<\/strong>, Team partypoker<\/a>\u2019s Johnny Lodden<\/strong><\/a>, and Dennis Berglin<\/strong> all finished in the money and by the time the nine-handed final table was reached, everyone had locked up \u20ac15,000.<\/p>\n

Norway\u2019s Kayhan Roshanfekr<\/strong> was the first player to bust from the final table and he was joined on the sidelines by his fellow countryman Espen Jorstad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Seventh-place and \u20ac27,000 went to Rasmus Larsen<\/strong> of Denmark who moved all-in with on the button and Johan Creutz<\/strong> called in the big blind with the dominating . Creutz paired his ten on the flop and it proved too much for Larsen to come from behind from.<\/p>\n

Thomas Soderstrom<\/strong> then bust in sixth-place at the hands of Kyte. The eventual champion opened from late position, Jouhkimainen three-bet to 1,500,000 from the small blind, Soderstrom moved all-in for 100,000 more chips and both Kyte and Jouhkimainen called. Kyte led out on the flop and Jouhkimainen folded.<\/p>\n

Kyte turned over for middle pair and Soderstrong . The turn and river were bricks and Soderstrom\u2019s tournament ended.<\/p>\n

Christopher Andler<\/strong> crashed out of the Main Event in fifth-place after losing back-to-back hands. Andler lost the majority of his chips to Creutz when he check-raised all-in with on a flop and was called by Creutz with . The on the turn all but bust Andler; he bust with to Nicoali Voreland<\/strong>\u2019s .<\/p>\n

The tournament became less shark-infested when Jouhkimainen called an all-in bet from Kyte on a flop with and lost when Kyte\u2019s improved to a straight on the turn. That hand gave Kyte a massive 26,000,000 chip stack and he became the hot favourite for the title.<\/p>\n

The first six-figure score of the tournament was awarded to Creutz who got his chips into the middle with and was in decent shape against Kyte\u2019s . The flop kept Creutz ahead but the turn gifted Kyte a straight. Creutz neeed the river to pair the board to stay in the tournament, but it was the .<\/p>\n

Kyte was the chip leader going into heads-up with Voreland until a massive hand went Voreland\u2019s way and evened up the stacks. The final hand, like many in tournament poker, was a coinflip. Kyte had Voreland slightly covered and his was against Voreland\u2019s . Voreland paired both his king and jack on the flop, but Kyte spiked a six to improve to a set. Neither the turn or river were of help to Voreland and he was resigned to second-place, a finish worth \u20ac150,000.<\/p>\n

With Voreland out of the way, Kyte was announced as the Nordic Poker Championships Main Event champion and a cool \u20ac240,000 is now winging its way to Kyte\u2019s bankroll just in time for the festive period.<\/p>\n
