{"id":45326,"date":"2017-11-24T11:54:13","date_gmt":"2017-11-24T10:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/?p=45326"},"modified":"2021-10-07T14:06:13","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T14:06:13","slug":"2017-caribbean-poker-party-day-7-jason-koon-bags-massive-stack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/2017-caribbean-poker-party-day-7-jason-koon-bags-massive-stack.html","title":{"rendered":"2017 Caribbean Poker Party Day 7: Jason Koon Bags Massive Stack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day 7 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">partypoker<\/a> LIVE 2017 Caribbean Poker Party saw the <strong>$5,300 MILLIONS Main Event<\/strong> complete its third day of play and the <strong>$5,300 MILLIONS Finale<\/strong> kick off in Punta Cana.<\/p>\n<h3>MILLIONS Main Event<\/h3>\n<p>Two-hundred and 22 players sat down at the start of Day 3 of the $5 million guaranteed MILLIONS Main Event and by the time the tournament director called time on proceedings, all but 43 of those hopefuls had fallen by the wayside.<\/p>\n<p>Among those returning to the fray were an army of <strong>Team partypoker<\/strong> players all sporting the famous partypoker patch and hoping to navigate their way through the shark-infested waters of the Main Event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/johnny-lodden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Johnny Lodden<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Jan-Peter Jachtmann<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/roberto-romanello\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Roberto Romanello<\/strong><\/a> crashed out before the money places, but at least their exits were not as harsh as <strong>Kevin Eyster<\/strong>\u2019s because he was the unfortunate soul to burst the bubble. With blinds at 100,000\/200,000 and a button ante of 200,000, Eyster moved all-in for 1,405,000 with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ac.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/3c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> from the cutoff and <strong>Graham Ivany<\/strong> called on the button with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/as.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/9c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. The final board read <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/tc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/9d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/3s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/6c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> to bust Eyster in 112th place and lock up $10,000 for anyone who still had chips in front of them.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of the world\u2019s top players fell in the money places, including <strong>Niall Farrell<\/strong>, <strong>Dylan Wilkerson<\/strong>, former World Series of Poker Main Event champion <strong>Martin Jacobson<\/strong>, <strong>Stephen Chidwick<\/strong>, our very own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/padraig-parkinson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Padraig Parkinson<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Andrey Pateychuk<\/strong>, <strong>Joseph Cheong<\/strong>, <strong>Seth Davies<\/strong>, <strong>Pascal Lefrancois<\/strong> and <strong>Matt Glantz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With only 43 players remaining, partypoker has five of our team flying the flag. Best placed of our players is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jason-koon-is-latest-pro-to-join-the-partypoker-team.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jason Koon<\/strong><\/a> who goes into Day 4 with a 71,975,000 stack. Koon\u2019s chip stack is that large that only the United Kingdom\u2019s <strong>Michael Zhang<\/strong> has more chips at his disposal, namely 83,100,000. Koon, who has almost $10.5 million in live tournament winnings, is going to take some stopping now.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the top 10 chip counts is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/partypoker-ladies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">partypoker Ladies<\/a> Projects and Events Manager <strong>Charlie Godwin<\/strong> with 39,850,000 chips. Godwin had an awful table draw for Day 3 yet she not only came through unscathed, she came through with just shy of 40 million chips and now has a real shot at a $1 million prize.<\/p>\n<p>The other partypoker members safely through to Day 4 are our Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/mike-sexton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mike Sexton<\/strong><\/a> (29,825,000), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/richard-dubini\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Richard Dubini<\/strong><\/a> (12,850,000), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/joao-simao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Joao Simao<\/strong><\/a> (10,000,000).<\/p>\n<p>Play resumes at 12:00 p.m. local time on Friday with blinds at 250,000\/500,000 and a button ante of 500,000. That number should increase because late registration is open until the end of the 12th level, meaning players can re-enter or even buy in for the first time. Currently, there is $470,000 of overlay, so expect a flurry of late registrations.<\/p>\n<p>Topping the chip counts at the end of Day 1 is the familiar face of <strong>Chris Hunichen<\/strong>. Having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/2017-caribbean-poker-party-day-5-chris-hunichen-wins-super-high-roller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won the $25,500 Super High Roller<\/a> earlier in the week, Hunichen has now turned his attention to the MILLONS Finale and has got off to a flying start, ending Day 1 with 3,897,000 chips.<\/p>\n<p>Four other players bagged up more than three millions chips: <strong>Diego Ventura<\/strong> (3,462,000), <strong>Ming Zhe Zhang<\/strong> (3,431,000), <strong>Vojtech Ruzicka<\/strong> (3,361,000) and <strong>Conor Beresford<\/strong> (3,155,000).<\/p>\n<p>Among the 65 survivors are a handful of Team partypoker members.
