The poker world lost a true legend in April 2015 when David \u201cDevilfish\u201d Ulliott lost his battle with cancer, leaving behind wife Anpaktita and his eight children Kerry, Lucy, Paul, David, Chris, Steven, Mike and Matthew.<\/p>\n

In October 2016, partypoker<\/a> and Dusk Till Dawn joined forced to create a high stakes poker tournament in Ulliott\u2019s honour, namely \u201cThe Devilfish Cup,\u201d which saw 204 players buy in for \u00a35,000 plus a \u00a3300 donation and compete for a share of a \u00a31 million guaranteed prizepool. The \u00a3300 donations, taken in lieu of rake, and three percent of the prize pool, was shared among the Marie Currie cancer charity and a trust fund for Ulliott\u2019s children.<\/p>\n

Anpaktita Ulliott, the poker star\u2019s late wife, handed the winner\u2019s trophy, a special edition guitar signed by rock legend Brian May, to professional poker player Lucas Blanco Oliver<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A total of \u00a393,000 was raised during the Devilfish Cup so Managing Director of partypoker Tom Waters and Dusk Till Dawn\u2019s Simon Trumper handed a cheque for \u00a346,500 to Jane Waterhouse, Head of Community Fundraising at Marie Curie.<\/p>\n

Waters said: \u201cRob Yong, owner of Dusk Till Dawn visited Dave during his last few days and asked him how he wanted to be remembered. He asked for us to hold a high stakes poker tournament. It was amazing to see players travel from all over the world to honour such a well-respected person within the poker industry and raise such a fantastic amount of money to a cause that in the end meant a lot to him and all of us at partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waterhouse said: \u201cWe\u2019d like to thank Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, partypoker and all involved in the Devilfish Cup for their incredible donation; we are honoured to have been chosen as the beneficiaries of this very special tournament. Through their support, Marie Curie will be able to provide more free care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
