Six hands into the six-handed final table, Cruz moved all-in from the small blind with and Alex Lindop called off his 14 big blind stack with the dominated . Neither layer improved on the board, Cruz\u2019 five-kicker played, and Lindop bust in sixth-place.<\/p>\n

Ireland\u2019s Seamus Cahill fell in fifth-place on the 22nd hand of the final table action. Nabil Cardoso opened to 175,000 at the 40,000\/80,000\/10,000a level with , Chris Yong three-bet to 450,000 with , Cahill four-bet all-in to 2,050,000 with , and Yong called when Cardoso passed. The board improved Yong to a straight and left the tournament with only four players in the hunt for the trophy.<\/p>\n

Four became three with the elimination of Maxime Swennen who pushed all-in with and was called by Cruz and his . Swennen was drawing dead by the turn of the board.<\/p>\n

Following Swennen to the rail was online cash game pro Cardoso who chose the worst moment to run a huge bluff for all of his stack. Cardoso called with and Yong checked in the big blind with . Cardoso started his bluff by betting 150,000 on the flop and Yong called with bottom pair. The turn was the and Cardoso kept up his story with a 500,000 bet, a bet that Yong called. Cardoso then moved all-in on the river and was instantly called by Yong who now held a full house. Game over for Cardoso, heads-up for the Main Event.<\/p>\n

Heads-up was practically one-way traffic with Cruz in control. On the 86th hand of the final table, Yong moved all-in for only four big blinds with and Cruz called with . The flop kept Yong in front, as did the turn, but the river gifted Cruz a pair of deuces, which were enough to send Yong home in second place and win the 2016 partypoker WPT UK Main Event.<\/p>\n
