martin24d yesterday turned a $200\u00a0investment into a\u00a0life-enhancing\u00a0$100,000 prize after winning the\u00a0$500K Guaranteed.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0was one of 2,106 players who vied for a share of the\u00a0$500,000 prize pool. The mathematicians among you will no doubt have worked out that this number of entrants left partypoker with a substantial overlay of $108,000, making the $500K Guaranteed the best value tournament found anywhere online.<\/p>\n

After more than 12 hours of intense poker action, those 2,106 starters were whittled down to the final table of nine, each of whom bagging at least\u00a0$6,150 for their efforts!<\/p>\n

The first player busted two hands after the final table began. The action passed to martin24d in the small blind who moved all-in to put spyver<\/strong> to the test for his 10 big blinds. Spyver snap-called with and was in decent shape to double his stack as martin24d had made his move with the lowly . However, a three on the flop of the board was more than enough to bust spyver, leaving him in ninth place.<\/p>\n

Spyver was followed to the rail first by Ireland’s UlDuffer<\/strong>,\u00a0luckbox247<\/strong>, SSMfor_life<\/strong> and Znork666<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Znork666’s exit meant only four players remained in the hunt for the $100,000 first place prize. The final four were guaranteed at least\u00a0$25,950 for their\u00a0effort.<\/p>\n

At this point, martin24d was in control of the table thanks to holding 13,416,318 of the 21,060,000 chips in play. Mr Lagenda<\/strong> bust umbroSS<\/strong> and GRANDAD_BAZ<\/strong> in back-to-back hands to marginally close the gap \u00a0going into heads-up, but still only halved\u00a0martin24D’s chip count.<\/p>\n

The one-on-one battle lasted only 20 hands, the last of which internet kids would call standard. martin24d limped on the button at the 100,000\/200,000\/20,000a level, Mr Lagenda raised all-in for 3,224,794 and martin24d quickly called.<\/p>\n

The flop fell to give Mr Lagenda an open-ended straight draw, although he could no longer catch a seven because that would have improved martin24d to a straight. The turn was the , a complete blank, and the river the . Neither the turn or river came to Mr Lagenda’s rescue who would have to settle for $52,000 and second place. martin24d took all the plaudits and became partypoker’s latest $500K Guaranteed champion, taking home $100,000 in the process.<\/p>\n
