We hope you are enjoying our first \u2018blogged\u2019 partypoker Million tournament. So far this week you have read the words of some of my fellow energetic and creative coworkers. Warren Lush is the PR Manager for PartyGaming and Stuart Lewis-Smith, who is Product Manager. Along with learning more about the poker games<\/a>, Warren, Stuart and the rest of the PartyGaming gang are doing what they can to bring to you the fun and excitement that is going on here aboard the cruise ship.
\nMeanwhile, I am stuck down in the poker tournament area tracking the players, statistics and chip counts. So much for cruising fun for me! In the next few days we will start posting more information regarding players, chip leaders and what is happening in the poker tournament. As for the poker tournament\u2026
\nAll good things must come to an end, and the end came today for 316 players hoping to become the next partypoker.millionaire. The good news for those players is that, although the tournament is over for them, they still have four more days of cruising to help to ease the pain!
\nThe field has been reduced to 207 players, and many of the top names are gone. As we reported earlier, two of the first three players to go were top players Paul Darden and Barry Shulman. Joining them on the rail at the end of the two day ones are:<\/p>\n

Out of the 523 players that started the tournament, 419 (80%) qualified online while 104 (20%) bought in directly. After days 1a and 1b, 166 (80%) of the online qualifiers remain.
\n21 (4%) females started the tournament and going into day 2 there are 7 remaining (3.4%).
\nThe average age of the players at the start of the tournament was 39. Going into day 2 that has dropped slightly to 38.
\nTotal countries represented at the beginning of the tournament was 23. Going into day 2 only 13 countries are now represented.<\/p>\n

As with all major tournaments there were some interesting proposition bets made by a few of the better known players. WPT Champion Gavin Smith was confident enough in his play to bet that he (or fellow pro Chris Bell) would hold the chip lead going into day 2 of the tournament. Both Gavin and Chris played on day 1b, so they had to overcome day 1a chipleader Ali Eslami and his $78,000.
\nGavin didn\u2019t win the bet (he had a high of $65,000 with 45 minutes to play) but ended with an impressive $50,000. That was good enough to win three over\/under bet (Gavin bet over $38,500) with Mike Sexton, Ralph Rudd and Kenna James.<\/p>\n
