He can\u2019t get enough of it. Two months ago, Lakhov walked away with the title of World Poker Tour National (WPT) Merit Cyprus Main Event champion and on September 10 he won that tournament\u2019s bigger brother when he took down the 2014 partypoker WPT North Cyprus Main Event.<\/p>\n<p>Lakhov was one of 404 entries in the $4,400 buy-in Main Event, which happens to be the largest-ever WPT Main Event held in sunny Cyprus. Devkin managed to double on the first hand of play, but then then ran his pocket queens into the kings of <strong>Nicolas Chouity<\/strong> and didn\u2019t improve.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"392\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38164\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/igor.jpg\" alt=\"Igor Devkin busted in sixth place\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/igor.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/igor-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/igor-229x150.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Chouity claimed another tournament life with a monster hand when he sent the talented cash game pro <strong>Ori Miller<\/strong> to the rail. Miller raised all-in from the cutoff for around one million chips during the 40,000\/80,000 blind level with what turned out to be <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/js.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. Miller\u2019s move was one that should have won the blinds and antes, however, Chouity was sat on the button with a pair of aces in front of him and he re-shoved to force out the blinds.<\/p>\n<p>The blinds quickly folded and the dealer spread the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/3d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/8s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> onto the felt and Miller was gone in fifth place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"398\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/miller.jpg\" alt=\"Ori Miller\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/miller.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/miller-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/miller-226x150.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fourth place went to the popular British pro <strong>Toby Lewis<\/strong> who crashed out in a blind-versus-blind battle with former WPT Vienna champion <strong>Dmitry Gromov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis and Gromov fought numerous battles while the tournament was four-handed, but it was Gromov who had the last laugh.<\/p>\n<p>Gromov raised to 200,000 from the small blind and Lewis jammed all-in for 2,100,000. Gromov called with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ad.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and had Lewis\u2019 <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ac.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/th.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> outkicked. Chouity raised from the button and then called when Gromov three-bet to 550,000 from the small blind.<\/p>\n<p>A flop reading <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/9h.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/5c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> saw Gromov continue with a 620,000 bet and Chouity call. The turn was the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/3s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and Gromov checked. Chouity took up the role of aggressor and made it 950,000 only to see Gromov check-raise all-in. Chouity called.<\/p>\n<p>The Lebanese star flipped over <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qs.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> while Gromov sheepishly turned over the lowly <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2h.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. Only the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> could come to Gromov\u2019s rescue because the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> would have improved Chouity to a flush. Guess what happened? That\u2019s right, the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> peeled off on the river to send a stunned Chouity home in third place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38161\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/chouitybusts.jpg\" alt=\"Nicolas Chouity busts to a one-outer\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/chouitybusts.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/chouitybusts-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/chouitybusts-225x150.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to that last hand. Gromov held a 3-to-1 chip lead over his fellow countryman, Lakhov. It was a lead that Gromov didn\u2019t hold for long, raising preflop with pocket aces and then calling when Lakhov three-bet all-in for 3,500,000. Gromov obviously called and Lakhov was at risk of elimination.<\/p>\n<p>Lakhov spiked a jack on the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/9c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/7s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> flop, with the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> on the turn giving him a few extra outs to a Broadway straight. It wasn\u2019t the straight outs that came to Lakhov\u2019s rescue, but the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> on the river. Lakhov would not relinquish his lead from this point on.<\/p>\n<p>The final hand of the tournament saw Lakhov open from the button, Gromov re-raise all-in for 1,800,000 and Lakhov call.<\/p>\n<p>Gromov showed <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ad.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and Lakhov the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/js.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">.
