The draw for the two groups in the PartyPoker Premier League just took place, Jesse May<\/strong> and tournament director John Scanlon<\/strong> took to the stage at Aspers Casino and drew the names one by one. The buzz in the aftermath was about how loaded Group A is, judge for yourself because this is the draw.<\/p>\n

    Each group will play four heats, where points mean prizes and also whether they qualify for the final. At the end of the four heats the top three in each group automatically qualify for the final, those in fourth and fifth will have to play a heads-up play-off to reach the final.<\/p>\n

    Here\u2019s what some of the players and the man on the mic Jesse May had to say in the aftermath of the draw.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI don\u2019t like it. I\u2019m not happy, but it\u2019s going to be fun and it\u2019ll make great television.\u201d \u2013 Marvin Rettenmaier<\/p>\n

    \u201cThere are no easy groups.\u201d \u2013 Dan Shak<\/p>\n

    \u201cOf course I\u2019m going to win, with 15 fish how can I not win?\u201d Antonio Esfandiari<\/p>\n

    \u201cIt\u2019s going to be very tough, so it\u2019ll be even more rewarding if I win it\u2019ll be a good challenge. Bring it on. \u2013 Jonathan Duhamel<\/p>\n

    I then caught up with Jesse May, who\u2019ll be commentating on the live stream all week and he had this to say. \u201cPeople are going to view Group A as the tough one and Group B as the value. I think Group B could be all about if Tony G shows up. It\u2019s going to be interesting to see who Tony G goes after, none of the obvious candidates are there.<\/p>\n

    May went on to say that he believes Hellmuth and Tony G have unfinished business with the Premier League and they\u2019re after redemption before adding. \u201cWith that draw I think you have to make Jason Mericer and Tobias Reinkemeier the early favorites. \u201c<\/p>\n
