The World Poker Tour Baden Main Event is down to just six players and among them is the PartyPoker Pro Marvin Rettenmaier<\/strong>. \u201cMad\u201d Marvin is on course to win his third WPT Main Event title and to do so within a year! Unbelievable!<\/p>\n

Should Rettenmaier go all the way in Baden he would become only the third player in WPT history to win a trio of titles — his domination<\/a> in these events is unreal. He would join Gus Hansen<\/strong> and Carlos Mortensen<\/strong> as a triple WPT winner. But, and here\u2019s the but, Rettenmaier would break the record for the fastest-ever triple WPT win and by some margin too.<\/p>\n

Fastest WPT Hat Trick Ever?<\/h3>\n

Mortensen\u2019s hat trick of WPT gongs came over the period of seven years, while Hansen took six years from winning his first WPT to taking down his third. Rettenmaier won his first WPT title in May 2012 when he bested the field in the $25,000 WPT World Championship in Las Vegas. A couple of months later \u2013 in August 2012 — the talented German won WPT Cyrpus to become the first-ever back-to-back WPT champion and should he win WPT Baden he would complete his hat trick in just 10 month!<\/p>\n

Rettenmaier goes into today\u2019s final table second in chips with a stack of 1,565,000 although it could have been a completely different story entirely. Late into Day 4, with blinds at 15,000\/30,000\/5,000a, Rettenmaier opened in late position with a raise to 60,000. A couple of seats to Rettenmaier\u2019s left was Vladimir Bozinovic<\/strong> and he three-bet to 175,000. Both blinds folded and Rettenmaier moved all-in for 865,000 and Bozinovic called to put Rettenmaier at risk of elimination.<\/p>\n

Rettenmaier was a 64\/36 underdog in the hand and those odds worsened as the dealer put out the flop. The turn was the which gave Rettenmaier just a 13.63% of winning the hand, but the fell on the river to save Rettenmaier\u2019s bacon and the catapult him into the chip lead.<\/p>\n

Standing between Rettenmaier and title number three is the aforementioned Bozinovic, talkative Dutchman Paul Berende<\/strong>, Oswin Ziegelbecker<\/strong>, Kimmo Kurko<\/strong> and the short-stacked PartyPoker qualifier<\/a> Grzegorz Wyraz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Each of the surviving players have now locked up a payout of at least $47,820 but one of them will be leaving Baden with $271,258, which includes a seat to the $25,000 WPT World Championship. Who will that be? Tune in tomorrow to find out!<\/p>\n
