The Grand Prix Spring edition<\/strong><\/a> kicked off on March 16 and crowned its first three champions on March 20. Those trio of opening events have set a high benchmark for the Main Events, especially the $33 Opener PKO<\/strong>, which not only reached its $75,000 guarantee but paid out an impressive $96,720!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some 3,224 PartyPoker players took to the tables for the $33 buy-in $75,000 guaranteed Grand Prix Spring #01 Opener PKO, with 479 of those starters progressing to Day 2 and securing at least a min-cash for their efforts. That min-cash grew to at least $533 by the time the final table reached, plus, of course, any bounties those finalists picked up along the way.<\/p>\n

“PsychFox”<\/strong> was the first of the nine finalists to bow out, doing so with $780 to show for their efforts, the only prize at the final table that was less than four figures.<\/p>\n

“Sankaku Jime”<\/strong> and “Tarekkk_”<\/strong> were the next casualties. Their deep runs resulted in their PartyPoker account balances swelling by $1,108 and $1,013, respectively. Then came the elimination of “EpicSince92”<\/strong> in sixth ($2,012) and “vixkickx”<\/strong> in fifth ($1,810) before the untimely demises of “SAMURAVI77”<\/strong> ($2,980) and “dust2_killer”<\/strong> ($4,823) sent the opening event into the heads-up stage.<\/p>\n

Here, “running4guns”<\/strong> locked horns with “iva76.”<\/strong> Both players guaranteed themselves at least $5,600 from the main prize pool, but the final bounty payment was almost $5,000, so there was everything to play for. Eventually, running4guns found themselves in possession of all the chips, thus becoming the first Grand Prix Spring champion, and recipient of $10,454<\/strong>. Our runner-up received $6,351.<\/p>\n

Raven0216 Crowned Mini Opener Champion<\/h2>\n

The $5.50 buy-in Mini Opener PKO also obliterated its guarantee when 3,594 entrants created a $17,970 prize pool!<\/strong> Despite only costing $5.50 to enter, the top two finishers saw four-figure sums land in their PartyPoker account, with the rest of the finalists securing payments from $137 to $812.<\/p>\n

When the dust settled in the Mini Opener, it was “Raven0216”<\/strong> that sat behind all of the chips. The champion captured a $1,041 score from the main prize pool plus an additional $855 from the bounty prize pool<\/a> for a total haul worth $1,896. “k0rnqka”<\/strong> was the runner-up; their reward came in at a combined $1,127, which is impressive for a $5.50 investment.<\/p>\n

PuruPasta Turns $1.10 Into $266<\/h2>\n

Imagine winning more than 200 times your initial investment<\/strong> and getting to call yourself a PartyPoker champion. That is precisely what happened to “PuruRasta”<\/strong> after they came out on top of the $1.10 buy-in Micro Opener PKO event, part of the PartyPoker Grand Prix Spring festival.<\/p>\n

A field of 2,446 entrants left a small overlay on the $2,500 guarantee, and PuruRasta took full advantage of the added value. After they defeated “Pelegossauro”<\/strong> heads-up, PuruPasta saw $266 land in their PartyPoker account, while the runner-up netted $183. Third-place finisher, “DonkerKiller,”<\/strong> collected $119, all impressive sums considering their only spent $1.10 to enter!<\/p>\n
