Jaime Staples fell just short of taking down the <strong>$1,050 The Grand<\/strong>, while Matt triumphed in the <strong>Super $215<\/strong> and claimed a second-place finish in a <strong>6-Max Hyper<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Table of Contents<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#jaime\">Jaime Staples Takes Home $8,684 in The Grand<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#matt\">Matt Staples Walks Away With Super $215 Title<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#sunday-party\">RafsCard Clinches Sunday Party Top Honours<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#tashico\">tashico Is Your Sunday Carnival Champion<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"jaime\">Jaime Staples Finishes Third in The Grand<\/h2>\n<p>Seventy-four players turned out for The Grand this week, and what a talented field of players they were. Any of the nine PartyPoker stars that reached the final table would have made a worthy champion, but only one of them claimed that honour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ali Akok<\/strong> ($2,890) did not spend much time under the spotlight because he was the first of the finalists heading for the exits. The likes of <strong>Artjoms Visockis<\/strong> ($3,184), Swedish legend <strong>Niklas Astedt<\/strong> ($3,483), and Malta-based pro <strong>Andrea Radicchi<\/strong> ($4,011) joined Akok on the rail.<\/p>\n<p>The field became shorter with the eliminations of <strong>Emil Olsson<\/strong> ($4,912) and <strong>Caspar Jensen<\/strong> ($6,382) before our very own Jaime Staples bowed in a respectable third place for $8,684.<\/p>\n<p>With Staples out of the way, the two remaining players cut a deal that flattened the pay jumps and concluded the tournament. A field of 139 players were left in Staples&#8217; wake as he reeled in a $7,306 score for his impressive victory. However, Staples was not done there, he went on to finish second in a 6-Max Hyper Turbo tournament for an additional $676. We love a little bit of sibling rivalry here at PartyPoker!<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"sunday-party\">RafsCard Wins the $150K Sunday Party<\/h2>\n<p>A monster-sized field of 1,499 entrants took to the PartyPoker virtual felt for the <strong>$150,000 guaranteed Sunday Party<\/strong>. The prize pool was such that nobody at the final table took home less than $1,864 for their $109 investment, and the top two finishers received payouts of five figures!<\/p>\n<p>Those two players were none other than runner-up <strong>&#8220;Finta_Gringo_K9,&#8221;<\/strong> who fell at the final hurdle. Second-place prize money weighed in at a cool $10,045. The top five finishers saw that $22 investment swell to no less than $1,055 and as much as $4,738!<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Supreme_Leader&#8221;<\/strong> ($1,015), <strong>&#8220;Mr.Anderss0n&#8221;<\/strong> ($1,948), and <strong>&#8220;PsychFox&#8221;<\/strong> ($2,189) were the first trio of grinders to bank four-figure prizes.
