Quite the opposite, in fact. Players from around the world padded their bankrolls this weekend, and 16 PartyPoker players got their hands on a $530 PPC Winter Main Event seat from our first no-direct buy-in satellite.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand saw 120 players compete for a slice of the <strong>$118,700 prize pool<\/strong>, which was far greater than the advertised $75,000 guarantee. The juicy prize pool attracted some of the best poker tournament players in the business, including our very own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/matt-staples\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Matt Staples<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/massive-score-for-danchev-as-he-becomes-a-wptwoc-event-winner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dimitar Danchev<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/christian-rudolph-is-the-wpt-online-series-main-event-champion.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Christian Rudolph<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/simon-mattsson-is-the-latest-wpt-online-series-high-roller-champion.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Simon Mattsson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That quartet of players failed to finish in the top 23 where the prize money was distributed. The likes of <strong>Rodrigo Seiji<\/strong>, <strong>Justin Bonomo<\/strong>, <strong>Claas Segebrecht<\/strong>, <strong>Steven Van Zadelhoff<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/super-stokkan-is-the-millions-online-main-event-champion.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Preben Stokkan<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Alexandro Theologis<\/strong>, and <strong>Joakim Andersson<\/strong> did cash but missed out on a seat at the final table.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allison Luan Lima Eleres<\/strong> ($3,264) saw his tournament end in a ninth-place finish. <strong>Vladimir Minko<\/strong> ($3,855) and <strong>Thomas Boivin<\/strong> ($4,465) were the next to fall, Boivin building on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/brilliant-boivin-bags-millions-online-ko-hat-trick.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his recent MILLIONS Online KO success<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>UK-based Spanish superstar <strong>Adrian Mateos<\/strong> ($5,209) joined the list of busted players before Ireland&#8217;s <strong>Christopher Goodey<\/strong> ($6,411) and <strong>Alexandre Raymond<\/strong> ($8,502) busted, the latter scoring the last four-figure prize.<\/p>\n<p>Swedish grinder <strong>Michael Lundqvist<\/strong> ($11,859) was eliminated in third, leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jans-arends-gets-his-hands-on-a-21-5k-millions-online-ko-score.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jans Arends<\/strong><\/a> heads-up against Ireland-based Lithuanian <strong>Alex Kulev<\/strong>. Some 309 players competed for a share of the $61,800 prize pool when $50,000 was guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>$10,378 went to <strong>&#8220;Pgvholla&#8221;<\/strong> who was the last player standing in this exciting progressive knockout tournament.
