Barbosa Binks the MILLIONS Online KO Opener"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>William Barbosa<\/strong> of Brazil is the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/millions-online-knockout-edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MILLIONS Online KO<\/strong><\/a> champion of the current series after he outlasted 912 opponents in the <strong>$162 buy-in $125,000 guaranteed Opener<\/strong>. The impressive victory came with $17,225 in prize money, giving the Brazilian sensation a significant bankroll boost.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of big names were among the 136 PartyPoker players who were present and correct on Day 2 of the Opener. The likes of <strong>Jerry Odeen<\/strong>, WSOP bracelet winner <strong>Ben Dobson<\/strong>, <strong>Steven Van Zadelhoff<\/strong>, <strong>Fabian Gumz<\/strong>, <strong>Martin Mulsow<\/strong>, our very own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/matt-staples\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Matthew Staples<\/strong><\/a>, and <strong>Joao Ferreira<\/strong> all cashed but came short of the final six spots.<\/p>\n<p>All six finalists called Brazil or Austria home. Austria&#8217;s <strong>Gilles Simon<\/strong> busted in sixth for $4,182 before Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Breno Avelino<\/strong> crashed out and collected the $4,007 fifth-place prize.<\/p>\n<p>The next three casualties were all Austrians: <strong>Johan Schulz-Pedersen<\/strong>, <strong>Soenke Jahn<\/strong>, and runner-up <strong>Tomas Patka<\/strong> fell by the wayside one after another. They saw prizes of $4,695, $8,433, and $9,568 hit their PartyPoker account.<\/p>\n<p>The night and tournament belonged to Barbosa of Brazil, our first champion of the series. Only 24 of those hopefuls made it through to Day 2 at the first time of asking, and nobody bagged up more chips than <strong>Matthieu Rodriguez<\/strong>, who is now armed with 17,288,711 chips in addition to $2,125 worth of bounties.<\/p>\n<p>Only three other players finished Day 1A of the $1,050 buy-in Main Event with an eight-figure stack. <strong>Patrick Lauber<\/strong> (15,096,234), <strong>Alessandro Sarro<\/strong> (11,193,442), and <strong>Pedro Madeira<\/strong> (10,232,430) are that deep-stacked trio.<\/p>\n<p>We have to give a special mention to another three players, PartyPoker grinders who won their MILLIONS Online KO Main Event seat via the value-packed Mega Sat. <strong>Daniel Brunnmayr<\/strong> (3,700,785), <strong>Mathew Cranshaw<\/strong> (3,369,260), and <strong>Rostislav Krhenek<\/strong> (1,776,664) are now through to Day 2, having captured $1,050 seat for a fraction of their cost in our MILLIONS Online KO Main Event Mega Satellite.<\/p>\n<p>You can follow in their footsteps by qualifying for this weekend&#8217;s mega satellite, doing so from as little as a single cent! We had our eyes on <strong>#09 8-Max<\/strong>, a $530 buy-in tournament that drew in 103 entrants. Two members of Team PartyPoker navigated their way to the final table.
