{"id":187539,"date":"2022-10-14T08:28:18","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T08:28:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog?p=187539"},"modified":"2022-10-14T08:28:18","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T08:28:18","slug":"rankic-reels-in-grand-prix-autumn-ko-6-max-championship-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/rankic-reels-in-grand-prix-autumn-ko-6-max-championship-title.html","title":{"rendered":"Rankic Reels In Grand Prix Autumn KO 6-Max Championship Title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/the-poker-action-is-red-hot-this-autumn-with-the-partypoker-grand-prix.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Grand Prix KO Autumn<\/strong><\/a> champions have been crowned after the <strong>$215 buy-in $200,000 guaranteed 6-Max Championship<\/strong> and the <strong>$22 buy-in $75,000 guaranteed Mini 6-Max Championship<\/strong> events concluded in the early hours of October 14.<\/p>\n<p>Both <strong>Marijan Rankic<\/strong> of Slovenia, and Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Fernando Tragueta<\/strong> became poker champions, wrote their names into PartyPoker&#8217;s history books, and padded their bankrolls with chunky prizes, giving them plenty of ammunition for the remaining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/five-reasons-you-need-some-bounty-knockout-mtts-in-your-life.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>PKO events<\/strong><\/a> on the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The $215 6-Max Championship drew in 948 PartyPoker players from all corners of the globe. Only 140 of those punched their Day 2 tickets, and Croatian grinder Marijan Rankic outlasted them all.<\/p>\n<p>The Day 2 field was littered with household names, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/wpt-online-series-fabio-sperling-wins-wpt500.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fabio Sperling<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/daniel-smyth-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Daniel Smyth,<\/strong><\/a> <strong>Martins Adeniya<\/strong>, <strong>Tomas Fara<\/strong>, and final table bubble boy <strong>Boris Angelov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With bounties included, each of the finalists locked in more than $5,000 for their efforts. Estonia&#8217;s <strong>Jesus Ucero<\/strong> was the six-handed final table&#8217;s first casualty. He headed into the cold of the night with $5,144 in tow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sander Totuli<\/strong>, a regular in PartyPoker tournaments, fell in fifth for $6,361 before Denmark&#8217;s <strong>Jonathan Harlin<\/strong> saw his $215 turn into $10,112 as his deep run ended in a fourth-place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Third place and $11,750 went to <strong>Joao Vieira<\/strong>, with Vieira&#8217;s untimely demise leaving Rankic heads-up against <strong>Adam Hari<\/strong>, representing Hungary. Both players banked near as damn it $14,000 from the main prize pool, but the final bounty payment was also worth five figures. Almost one-tenth of that pot is now nestled in the account of Brazil&#8217;s Fernando Tragueta, a worth champion if ever we saw one.<\/p>\n<p>The bumper crowd ensured everyone at the final table took home more than $1,700 for their $22 investment. <strong>Jan Nielsen<\/strong> ($1,717), <strong>Anatoly Zuev<\/strong> ($1,616), <strong>Victor Martins<\/strong> ($2,797), and <strong>Baptiste Scorsone<\/strong> ($3,991) hit the showers one after another, leaving Tragueta heads-up against <strong>Martin &#8220;Marty&#8221; Mathis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You may recall <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/marty-mathis-pp-live-dollars-into-873700.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Mathis won the PartyPoker LIVE MILLIONS South America<\/strong><\/a> Main Event for $873,700 in 2019. Mathis may have been the favourite for victory going into the heads-up clash, but Tragueta defied the odds, eliminated Mathis in second-place, and claimed $7,139 in cold hard cash for himself.
