Andrew Balfe<\/strong> got his hands on a career-best score worth \u00a322,000 when he came out on top in the \u00a3150 buy-in Grand Prix UK Main Event<\/strong><\/a>. The tournament saw 1,156 players buy into the various online and live starting flights, and all 174 players who navigated their way to Day 2 at Dusk Till Dawn locked up a piece of the \u00a3150,000 prize pool.<\/p>\n

Andrew Hulme<\/strong>, Luigi Viscomi<\/strong>, and Steve Jelinek<\/strong> were among those who finished in the money places, the latter falling in 14th place for \u00a31,250.<\/p>\n

Each of the nine finalists locked in a \u00a31,750 score but with \u00a322,000 up top, nobody wanted to reel in that amount. Unfortunately for Ben Jordan<\/strong>, he was the first finalist out of the door. Richard Lazarus<\/strong> and Tyler Cotton<\/strong> joined Jordan at the cashier’s desk and banked \u00a32,250 and \u00a32,750.<\/p>\n

Michael Yates<\/strong>‘ deep run ended in a sixth-place finish worth \u00a33,500 before Declan McManus<\/strong> crashed out in fifth for \u00a34,500.<\/p>\n

Nathaniel Brown<\/strong>, who won a \u00a340 buy-in tournament at Dusk Till Dawn at the start of the year for \u00a31,382, walked away with a career-best \u00a36,500. There was another career-high prize awarded to Sanjay Pattni<\/strong> after he fell in third place. Pattni collected \u00a39,500, dwarfing his previous career-high of \u00a32,900.<\/p>\n

Heads-up pitted Balfe against Nestoras Kakoyannis<\/strong>. The heads-up duo neglected to discuss a deal, so fought it out one-on-one for the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool. Balfe got the job done and his hands on \u00a322,000, leaving Kakoyannis to collect a \u00a314,275 consolation prize.<\/p>\n
