Several partypoker players became MILLIONS Online KO<\/strong><\/a> champions this weekend but nobody won as much prize money as Malta\u2019s Daniel Montagnolli<\/strong>. The Maltese star triumphed in the $162 buy-in Opener event and saw his partypoker balance increase by an impressive $28,391.<\/p>\n

We were hopeful that Matt Staples<\/strong><\/a> would at least reach the final table because he had navigated his way through most of the 1,574-strong field. However, it was not meant to be and Staples bowed out in a respectable 43rd place and took home $451 for his efforts.<\/p>\n

With bounties included, nobody who reached the nine-handed final table banked less than $2,000. Kiril Kochov<\/strong> of Bulgaria was the first of those nine finalists heading for the sidelines; Kochov collected $2,069.<\/p>\n

The waters became a little less shark-infested when Alex Kulev<\/strong> crashed out in eighth for $3,661, and less still when the Finnish superstar Tomi Brouk<\/strong><\/a> ran out of luck and had to make do with a $3,164 seventh-place prize.<\/p>\n

Sixth place and $4,110 went to one of the two Brazilians at the Opener\u2019s final table, namely Felipe Salgado<\/strong>. Sweden\u2019s Isak Johansson and Canada\u2019s Alexandre Raymond<\/strong> busted and reeled in $4,549 and $7,389 scores respectively.<\/p>\n

Heads-up was set when Andrei Kotelnikov<\/strong>, a former WPTWOC Mix-Max champion<\/a>, fell in third. Kotelnikov won the tournament\u2019s firs five-figure prize, $13,355, from his Mexico grind station.<\/p>\n

Montagnolli and Brazil\u2019s Vinicius Perri De Lima<\/strong> locked horns heads-up for the title and a huge bounty payment. The heads-up duo secured more than $14,700 from the main prize pool but the all-important final bounty and the prize money on their own heads was still up for grabs. Montagnolli got the job done and received a whopping $13,649 worth of bounty payments, making for a total prize worth $28,391. De Lima consoled himself with a runner-up prize worth $18,110 in total.<\/p>\n

Thirty-One Progress to Main Event Day 2<\/h2>\n

The first MILLIONS Online KO Main Event<\/strong><\/a> flight took place on May 8 and saw 206 players exchange $1,050 for the chance to win a slice of a cool $1 million guarateed prize pool.<\/p>\n

Only 31 of those hopefuls punched their Day 2 tickets at the first attempt, including Team partypoker\u2019s Carl Froch<\/strong><\/a> who bagged up 2,733,756 chips at the close of play, enough for 27th place right now.<\/p>\n

A trio of players who won their seats via our MILLIONS Online KO Main Event Mega Satellites also progressed. Patrick Hyllegaard<\/strong> shone the brightest with a finishing stack of 9,878,358. David Valenzuela<\/strong> finished on 6,272,824 with Martin Wendt<\/strong> bagging and tagging 3,274,380 in addition to winning $1,625 worth of bounties.<\/p>\n

Estonia\u2019s Jesus Martinez Ucero<\/strong> is the current chip leader with 16,377,852 chips and $1,875 collected from the bounty prize pool.<\/p>\n
