McCully, a regular in our highest buy-in tournaments, walked away with $35,254 for his impressive victory.<\/p>\n<p>Some 150 players bought into this week\u2019s The Grand, and the top 223 finishers shared the $150,000 prize pool. Spare a thought for <strong>Jan Bednar<\/strong> who fell in 24th place and burst the money bubble. A min-cash weighed in at $2,255 but the prize money increased to $3,867 by the time the nine-handed final table was set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick Hyllegaard<\/strong>\u2019s time at the final table was limited because the Danish star was the first player heading for the exits. <strong>Aleksejs Meless<\/strong> and <strong>Andrea Radichhi<\/strong> joined Hyllegaard on the rail, doing so with $4,693 and $5,548 payouts to keep them company.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth-place and $6,590 went to <strong>David Cowling<\/strong> before <strong>Patrick Lauber<\/strong> ran out of steam in fifth, which came with a prize weighing in at $8,272. That was the last four-figure sum awarded by The Grand.<\/p>\n<p>Mexico-based Lithuanian <strong>Gediminas Uselis<\/strong> saw his deep run end in a fourth-place finish worth $11,199, and heads-up was set when <strong>Aleksejs Ponakovs<\/strong> crashed out in third for $15,900.<\/p>\n<p>Ponakovs\u2019 exit left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/joao-vieira-victorious-in-the-10k-super-high-roller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joao Vieira<\/strong><\/a> heads-up against McCully in a one-on-one battle for the lion\u2019s share of the prize pool.
