Thanks for stopping by my blog! Allow me to introduce myself: I\u2019m Courtney, a full time poker streamer on Twitch and member of Team Online. I\u2019ve been streaming for almost four years and these days I\u2019m usually playing multi table tournaments.<\/p>\n
I haven\u2019t always played MTTs, but I\u2019ve usually played some form of tournament poker. The idea of cash games appeals to me because of the freedom they provide \u2014 no more grinding according to tournament schedules and not knowing what time I\u2019ll be finished with my session \u2014 but I\u2019ve never been able to stick with them. I always go back to tournaments in the end.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t have a lot of live experience under my belt. I travelled to Barcelona to play an event last year and in 2016 I played the WSOP Main Event, but that\u2019s about it for me in recent years. Despite the fact that I don\u2019t play much live poker, I think I\u2019m well suited to it. I\u2019m not the best online multi-tabler, so I\u2019ve often had a worse hourly than the mass multi-tabling online grinders. Since live is just one table and one thing to focus on, I don’t have a disadvantage there.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve never made the permanent leap to live poker, however, because I love the convenience of playing online. I feel ashamed to say this because my job is ideal for seeing the world, but I really don\u2019t enjoy travelling that much. Sure I enjoy going on vacation and getting away from it all once or twice a year, but I always end up missing home after a couple weeks max. And besides that, my office is so much more comfortable than a seat at a live table. I can wear pajama bottoms, eat home cooked food, and I don\u2019t have to smell the guy beside me who hasn\u2019t showered in days.<\/p>\n
When I can drag myself to a live event, though, I always have a great time. 2016 was the first time I\u2019d played in the World Series since 2011, and it was a fun experience. It was also a short experience: I busted the Ladies Event on Day 1 and the Main Event Day 2.<\/p>\n
I decided to skip the WSOP last year due to my Barcelona trip, but I did feel some regret about it after the summer was over. So this year I\u2019m planning to go again, and I\u2019m really looking forward to it.<\/p>\n
I intend to play the Main Event and maybe one smaller event beforehand as \u201cwarm up\u201d. I wish I could play the Ladies Event, but it\u2019s two weeks before the Main Event and I don\u2019t want to spend over a week in Vegas unless I\u2019m going deep in the Main. The idea of spending an entire summer or even half a summer playing the series doesn\u2019t appeal to me much, as I\u2019m not a huge fan of Vegas and I don\u2019t want to be away from my stream that long. I really start to miss you guys after a while!<\/p>\n

I recently returned home from a trip to Portugal and I need to get back on the review grind. I was making good progress before I left for vacation, and I\u2019m looking forward to improving my game even more before I hit the road again.
