Switzerland’s Christophe Panetti<\/strong> has already locked up the largest score of his live poker tournament career and is looking for his first-ever six-figure haul. Panetti’s previous largest prize weighs in at \u20ac14,800 ($16,629), which he earned in April 2019. He is now guaranteed at least $37,120 for his efforts in this event but could walk away with a massive $377,115 if everything goes to plan.<\/p>\n

He will not have matters his own way despite returning to the action as the chip leader because there are some incredibly talented players joining him at the final table.<\/p>\n

Third-placed James Romero<\/strong> of the United States is one such player; he has $4,836,128 in live tournament earnings. Romero of Portland, Oregon, won the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic<\/strong> in 2016 for a cool $1,938,118. Before COVID-19 hit, Romero enjoyed a blistering start to 2020, finishing third in the MILLIONS UK $10K High Roller<\/strong> for $420,000, and winning the $25,500 Super High Roller at MILLIONS South America<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Others to look out for include Germany’s Tobias Duthweiler<\/strong>, whose achievements include a final table appearance at the 2019 MILLIONS Las Vegas<\/strong><\/a>, former WPT Barcelona<\/strong> runner-up Boris Kolev<\/strong> of Bulgaria, and the final table’s short stack Fahredin Mustafov<\/strong>, who won the 2018 MILLIONS Grand Final \u20ac10K High Roller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

O’Dwyer Leads the $25K Super High Roller; Jouhkimainen Flying High<\/h2>\n

Day 1 of the $25K Super High Roller<\/strong> event drew in a crowd of 19 entrants but only 11 of them made it through to Day 2. Late registration is open for the first four levels of play, so we fully expect the attendance figures to increase.<\/p>\n

Steve O’Dwyer<\/strong><\/a> is the man who leads the 11 Day 2 players back into battle, doing so with 861,000 chips. O’Dwyer is a beast of a poker tournament player, and his $30,475,678 in winnings rank him 12th in the all-time listings. There is quite the way to go in this event, but it would take a brave person to bet against an O’Dwyer victory now he finds himself in a dominant position.<\/p>\n

The rest of the ten surviving players read like a who’s who of the poker world, showing the draw the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS tour has.<\/p>\n

Laszlo Bujtas<\/strong>, a regular in our high buy-in online events, finished Day 1 with 499,000 chips, which are enough for second place at the restart. Alexandros Kolonias<\/strong> and Viacheslav Buldygin<\/strong> have the next largest stacks, before you find Team partypoker’s Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong><\/a> in fifth with 291,000 chips.<\/p>\n
