Sonnert was already considered to be one of the best PLO players on the planet, and now he has a World Poker Tour title to prove it.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-four players sat down for Day 2 of the $2,100 buy-in $300,000 guaranteed WPTWOC Omaha Championship, including Team partypoker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/joao-simao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joao Simao<\/strong><\/a>. Unfortunately for our hero, his tournament ended in a ninth-place finish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ka Kwan Lau<\/strong> crashed out in eighth and burst the final table bubble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shuxrat Salixov<\/strong> was the final table\u2019s first casualty, finishing in seventh place for $10,920, and put Uzbekistan on the poker map. Sweden\u2019s <strong>Kristoffer Jakobsson<\/strong> followed suit, his sixth-place finish coming with a $13,454 payout.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/clips.twitch.tv\/embed?clip=KathishRudeBibimbapPraiseIt-4lXutH9dLsHC4YEq&amp;parent=www.partypoker.com\" width=\"620\" height=\"378\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another Swede, <strong>Jesper Nordkvist Brodin<\/strong>, bowed out in fifth. Karaktitukov set his opponent all-in for his last 177,389, and was called. Sonnert called. The <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/8s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> kept Sonnert ahead, with the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> river improving the champion elect to a flush.<\/p>\n<p>Busting Suarez boosting Sonnert\u2019s stack to 12,752,700 going into heads-up against <strong>Patrick Hyllegaard<\/strong>, who had 3,347,300 chips. Such a substantial chip lead heads-up in a PLO tournament gives you a huge edge over your opponent. Sonnert checked, Hyllegard fired a 245,520 bet, and Sonnert responded by check-raising to 1,450,560. A flurry of bets later and Hyllegaard was all-in and at risk of elimination. Walbridge\u2019s exit left two Brazilians, <strong>Luiz Zattar Martins Jr<\/strong> and <strong>Luiz Orrico<\/strong> heads-up for the title and the now-massive final bounty payment.<\/p>\n<p>It was Orrico\u2019s night and he defeated his fellow countryman heads-up. This meant Orrico won the $58,936 top prize plus $34,815 for a total score worth $93,751.
