Shepel&#8217;s impressive stack knocks long-time leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jonathan-skovsen-takes-early-wptwoc-opener-lead.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jonathan Skovsen<\/strong><\/a> into second place.<\/p>\n<p>The Mini Opener is proving very popular with 6,776 players buying in, meaning more than $135,000 or the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool has already been accumulated with several flights remaining. <strong>Dan Catalin Oltean<\/strong> is the chip leader at the time of writing. Oltean has a 2,623,841 stack and almost $50 in bounty payments to his name.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the partypoker tournament lobby for all the remaining Opener and Mini Opener Day 1s.<\/p>\n<h2>Hot, Value-Packed WPT Action This Weekend<\/h2>\n<p>This weekend sees several more WPTWOC events and side events shuffle up and deal, and we cannot wait to see partypoker players flock to the site and begin their quest for WPT glory.<\/p>\n<p>August 20 sees Day 1A of the <strong>WPT Weekender<\/strong> and <strong>WPT Mini Weekender<\/strong>, which cost $109 and $11 to buy into respectively. Those tournaments come with guaranteed prize pools worth $150,000 and $50,000, and have four Day 1s each. Day 1 ends when only 15% of the field remains, those 15% progress to the <strong>final day at 19:05 BST on August 22<\/strong> where they are all in the money.<\/p>\n<p>The first non-Hold&#8217;em event is scheduled to run from 19:05 BST on August 21. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/check-out-the-new-pot-limit-omaha-daily-legends.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pot-Limit Omaha<\/strong><\/a> fans will flock to partypoker in droves for the <strong>$2,100 Omaha Championship Day 1A: $300K Gtd<\/strong>, the <strong>$215 Mini Omaha Championship Day 1A: $75K Gtd<\/strong>, and the <strong>$22 Micro Omaha Championship Day 1A: $20K Gtd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Day 1B of the trio of Omaha Championship events start at the same time on August 22, with Day 1C scheduled to kick off at a slightly earlier time of 16:05 BST on August 23. A turbo-structured flight runs from 18:00 BST on August 23, with the final day commencing at 20:05 BST also on August 23. We&#8217;ll bring you more updates about those huge tournaments over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The first of 16 flights for the <strong>WPT #03 WPT500: $1M Gtd<\/strong> shuffles up at 17:30 on August 22.
