Each of those returnees were in the money from the main prize pool, and all had secured some bounties payments along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching Day 2 but falling short of the seven-handed final table were the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/joao-vieira-victorious-in-the-10k-super-high-roller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joao Vieira<\/strong><\/a>, Team partypoker&#8217;s <strong>Matthew Staples<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/joao-simao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joao Simao<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/jeff-gross\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jeff Gross<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/patrick-leonard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a>. Swedish star <strong>Robin Ylitalo<\/strong> burst the final table bubble when he dusted off his stack in eighth place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vlad Stefan Lache<\/strong> saw his time at the final table limited because the Argentinian was the first out of the door. His initial $530 investment swelled to more than $10,000 thanks to the bounty element of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch duo <strong>Rui Bouquet<\/strong> and <strong>Pedro Olaio<\/strong> fell next before <strong>Philipp Muller<\/strong> of Malta crashed and burned in fourth, a finish worth a combined $17,647.<\/p>\n<p>Third place and $37,232 went to <strong>Gareth Gardner<\/strong> of the United Kingdom, which set up a one-on-one battle between <strong>Viktor Zsemlye<\/strong> and Hyllegaard. The heads-up clash went the way of Hyllegaard and he walked away with the title of champion plus $67,197 in prize money. The runner-up headed into the night with an additional $41,469 in his bankroll.<\/p>\n<h2>Fee triumphs in the 6-Max Event; Gardner Reaches Another Final Table<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Gregory Fee<\/strong> is the <strong>Grand Prix KO #02 6-Max<\/strong> champion, an accoldate that came with a combined prize worth $26,739. Fee got his hands on 11 bounties on his way to victory, resulting in $9,328 being added to his $17,411 first-place prize.<\/p>\n<p>Fee defeated Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Andreas Johansson<\/strong> heads-up to clinch the title. Johansson, although disappointed to get so far only to fall at the final hurdle, must be pleased with his $19,167 haul, especially as the buy-in for this event was an affordable $55.<\/p>\n<p>A special mention must go to the seventh place finisher, <strong>Gareth Gardner<\/strong>. The British star not only managed to outlast the majority of the 6,393-strong crowd in this event, he was the third-place finisher in the <strong>$530 6-Max High Roller<\/strong>, too! Victory in the latter belongs to <strong>Oliver Pennington<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Pennington had to navigate his way through a field of more than 10,000 entrants, including 1,478 players who made it through to Day 2; that is some grind. The Brit did so with guile and finnese, sending 15 foes to the sidelines on his way to victory.<\/p>\n<p>First-place in this even came with a $2,715 prize, which Pennington added $1,540 worth of bounty payments to for a combined score of $4,255, an incredible return on a mere $5.50 buy-in.<\/p>\n<p>Runner-up <strong>Anatoliy Byakhov<\/strong> can be proud of his deep run, especially as he sent 17 players to the showers on his way to second place.
