Only 91 of those starters made it through to the final day, each locking up at least $333 for their efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Team partypoker&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/day-kotoviezy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Day Kotoviezy<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/jaime-staples\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jaime Staples<\/strong><\/a>, and <strong>Matthew Staples<\/strong> were among those who cashed. As were such luminaries as <strong>Upeshka Da Silva<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/dominik-nitsche-wins-wpt-big-game-and-becomes-a-wptwoc-event-winner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dominik Nitsche<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Pim Gieles<\/strong>, and <strong>Marton Czuczor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium&#8217;s <strong>Karim Maekelberg<\/strong> was the nine-handed final table&#8217;s first casualty; they collected $1,846 with bounties included.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paulo Brombim<\/strong>, <strong>Alexander Petrov<\/strong>, <strong>Julian Selinger<\/strong>, and <strong>Tom Kunze<\/strong> then fell by the wayside to leave only four players in the hunt for the title. All eyes were on Swedish legend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/astedt-swaps-two-hole-cards-for-four-still-wins.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Niklas Astedt<\/strong><\/a> at this point because, well, he is a beast of a poker tournament player. However, he crashed out in fourth place for a combined $10,291.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jonathan Bussieres<\/strong> of Canada could not quite get over the last couple of hurdles and had to make do with a third-place finish. His exit left Grether heads-up against <strong>Jonathon Jackson<\/strong> of the United Kingdom. Both players secured more than $12,400 each from the main prize pool, but the bounties were huge at this stage.
