Some 521 players bought in on the first of two starting flights, but only 78 of them punched their Day 2 tickets at the first attempt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Drinan<\/strong> is the man whose name is at the top of the Main Event Day 1A chip counts courtesy of turning his 200,000 starting stack into a most impressive 3,847,386. There is a long way to go before this tournament crowns its champion, yet we have a feeling Drinan is going to be there or thereabouts when the biggest prizes are dished out.<\/p>\n<p>Austria&#8217;s <strong>Tom Kunze<\/strong> almost clinched the overnight chip lead. Kunze finished his flight with 3,830,846 chips, and has done his chances of glory no harm at all.<\/p>\n<p>Two other stars ended their flight with more than three million chips, too. <strong>Paul Hong<\/strong> of New Zealand has 3,266,0741 chips while the Hungarian sensation that is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/andras-nemeth-wins-the-irish-open-high-roller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Andras Nemeth<\/strong><\/a> was fast out of the block and will return on Day 2 with 3,025,203 chips in his arsenal.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of other top talent progressed to Day 2 from Sunday&#8217;s Day 1A. <strong>Michiel Bummelhuis<\/strong> (2,966,027), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/daniel-dvoress-takes-down-the-wpt-montreal-mike-sexton-classic.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Daniel Dvoress<\/strong><\/a> (2,416,388), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/juan-pardo-dominguez-wins-powerfest-high-roller-super-seven.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Juan Pardo Dominguez<\/strong><\/a> (2,070,797), <strong>Alex Foxen<\/strong> (1,513,844), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/steve-odwyer-clinches-high-roller-turbo-top-prize.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Steve O&#8217;Dwyer<\/strong><\/a> (1,184,247), and <strong>Christian Rudolph<\/strong> (932,703) among them.<\/p>\n<p>A special mention goes to the partypoker players who won a seat in the 50x $3,200 seat Mega Satellite and managed to make it through to Day 2.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Viacheslav Zaslavskii<\/strong> &#8211; 2,284,875<\/li>\n<li><strong>Martin Stausholm<\/strong> &#8211; 1,393,471<\/li>\n<li><strong>Benjamin McMenemy<\/strong> &#8211; 823,945<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peter Traply<\/strong> &#8211; 538,565<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vitalijs Korhs<\/strong> &#8211; 438,766<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jasen Hamilton<\/strong> &#8211; 194,944<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The satellite awarded 54 seats in total. Rolle came out on top of the 43-strong crowd to walk away with a massive prize of $381,400.<\/p>\n<p>Only the final table of seven received a slice of the $1,075,000 prize pool, so spare a thought for Linus Loeliger who busted in eighth and popped the money bubble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ali Imsirovic<\/strong> was the first player to cash ($56,545). <strong>Daniel Dvoress<\/strong> ($65,700), <strong>Christoph Vogelsang<\/strong> ($78,421), and <strong>Bujtas Laszlo<\/strong> ($105,919) joined Imsirovic on the rail. <strong>Joao Vieira<\/strong> ($152,768) fell in third, which left Rolle heads-up against Russia&#8217;s <strong>Artur Martirosian<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The difference between first and second-place prize money was more than $150,000 but the heads-up duo did not strike a deal.
