They say that in life, only taxes and death are certain. You can add something else to that short list, Michael Addamo<\/strong><\/a> running deep in high roller tournaments.<\/p>\n

Addamo took down the $5,200 WPT High Roller Turbo<\/strong> over the weekend and got his hands on the $87,459 top prize. The UK-based Australian outlasted 53 opponents on his way to glory, including Team partypoker’s Mikita Badziakouski<\/strong><\/a>, who finished fifth for $17,982.<\/p>\n

Only nine players received a slice of the $270,000 prize pool. David Szep<\/strong> and David Peters<\/strong> were the first to cash; the latter’s exit set the seven-handed final table.<\/p>\n

Artur Martirosian<\/strong><\/a>, Joakim Andersson<\/strong>, and Badziakouski busted in succession before Chris Brewer<\/strong> fell in fourth. The elimination of the talented Steve O’Dwyer<\/strong> in third, a finish worth $35,031, left Addamo heads-up against Alex Foxen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Addamo proved too strong for Foxen, who proposed to Team partypoker’s Kristen Bicknell<\/strong> last week (she said yes!), and the Aussie secured yet another high roller title.<\/p>\n

Brewer Bags $10K High Roller Title<\/h2>\n

Addamo went into the final day of the WPT #05 High Roller: $1M Gtd<\/strong> as the chip leader, but he could not quite finish the job. Seventeen of the 99 starters made it through to the second and final day, each locking up at least $21,277 for their efforts.<\/p>\n

Artur Martirosian<\/strong> was the first player out of the door, closely followed by Rob Yong<\/strong>. The field thinned one player at a time until David Peters crashed out in eighth place and set the star-studded final table.<\/p>\n

Sergi Reixach<\/strong>, Simon Mattsson<\/strong>, and Ramiro Petrone<\/strong> busted. Mike Watson<\/strong> dusted off his stack in fourth and was the last player not to reel in a six-figure haul; Watson won $80,047.<\/p>\n

Addamo’s tournament ended in a third-place finish worth $116,183, which left Shawn Daniels<\/strong> and Chris Brewer<\/strong> to lock horns heads-up for the title and the quarter of a million dollars top prize.<\/p>\n

Brewer defeated Daniels and banked $249,791, leaving Daniels to walk away with a $166,429 consolation prize.<\/p>\n

Mini and Micro Main Events Reach Latter Stages<\/h2>\n

The Mini and Micro Main Events are at the business end of their respective tournaments, and some juicy prizes are on the horizon.<\/p>\n

WPT #02 Mini Main Event<\/strong> is down to its last 28 players. Brazilian Joao Guilherme Hideki Hayashi<\/strong> is the man to catch in that event, where $88,701 awaits the champion. Play resumes at 19:05 BST and continues until only nine players remain.<\/p>\n

The WPT #02 Micro Main Event<\/strong> concludes this evening. Only 40 players remain in contention for the $22,507 top prize. George Klun<\/strong> of Slovenia leads the final day’s players back into battle.<\/p>\n
