Billy Irvine<\/strong> is more than $80,000 richer than a couple of days ago courtesy of triumphing in the $1,050 buy-in WPT #01 Opener<\/strong> event. Irvine’s reward for his impressive victory was a cash prize worth $81,841, which includes bounty payments.<\/p>\n

A bumper turnout of 333 entrants on Day 1C ensured the $500,000 guarantee was not only met but surpassed by $74,000. Irvine had already secured his Day 2 place thanks to finishing ninth at the end of Day 1B.<\/p>\n

The final day began with 84 players in the hunt for the title. The likes of Joao Vieira<\/strong>, Dominik Nitsche<\/strong>, Team partypoker’s Day Kotoviezy<\/strong><\/a>, Dzmitry Urbanovich<\/strong>, and Kristen Bicknell<\/strong>, and recent POWERFEST Main Event champion Diego Cuellar<\/strong><\/a> all crashed out, the latter doing so in 11th place.<\/p>\n

Seven players reached the final table with Irvine leading the way. Rodrigo Selouan<\/strong> was the first casualty of the final table. Finnish star Casimir Seire<\/strong>, Joel Nystedt<\/strong>, and Alexander Van Der Swaluw<\/strong> followed Selouan to the sidelines.<\/p>\n

The dangerous Conor Beresford<\/strong> ran out of steam in third place, which netted him a combined $32,241 in addition to sending the tournament into the heads-up stage. Irvine locked horns Ronnie Lemmens<\/strong> of the Netherlands and he got the job done.<\/p>\n

Lemme walked away with a second-place prize worth $59,033 while Irvine banked $81,841, and has plenty of ammunition for the rest of the WPT Online Series.<\/p>\n

Addamo Leads WPT High Roller<\/h2>\n

The WPT #05 High Roller<\/strong> was the first $10,300 buy-in event of the WPT Online Series. Ninety-nine players bought in and were whittled to a more manageable 17 on Day 1. There is a familiar name at the top of the chip counts, one that always seems to be there or thereabouts in these high roller tournaments: Michael Addamo<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Addamo is one of two players to finish Day 1 of the High Roller with a seven-figure stack. The Australian superstar bagged up 1,519,333 chips when the curtain came down on proceedings. His stack is more than twice the size of third-placed David Coleman<\/strong> (762,208).<\/p>\n

Ramiro Petrone<\/strong> excelled on Day 1, too. The Argentinian finished the night with 1,062,319 chips to put himself in contention for the $249,791 top prize.<\/p>\n

Others who progressed to Day 2 include such luminaries as Shawn Daniels<\/strong> (743,158), Mike Watson<\/strong><\/a> (679,074), David Peters<\/strong> (564,485), Simon Mattsson<\/strong> (395,662), and Rob Yong<\/strong> (266,964).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
