Spanish superstar Juan Pardo Dominguez<\/strong> is a POWERFEST<\/a> champion after he came out on top of a 138-strong field in the $1,575 buy-in POWERFEST #06 \u2013 High Roller Super Seven<\/strong> event on April 12.<\/p>\n

Pardo Dominguez\u2019s victory comes almost exactly three years to the day that he finished second to David Kitai<\/strong><\/a> in the \u20ac25,500 Super High Roller<\/strong> event at the partypoker MILLIONS Grand Final<\/strong> in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Only 23 of the 138 starters saw a return on their investment. Reigning World Series of Poker Hybrid Main Event champion Damian Salas<\/strong> was the 24th place finisher, which earned the Argentinian the unwanted title of bubble boy.<\/p>\n

A whole host of star followed Salas to the sidelines, albeit with some prize money to show for their efforts.<\/p>\n

WPTWOC Mix-Max Championship<\/strong> winner Andrey Kotelnikov<\/strong><\/a> was among those who finished in the money. As were Jon Van Fleet<\/strong>, Bruno Volkmann<\/strong>, Niklas Astedt<\/strong>, Daniel Dvoress<\/strong><\/a>, Sam Vousden<\/strong>, and our very own Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a>; Leonard finished ninth, and narrowly missed out on a final table appearance.<\/p>\n

All but two of the finalists padded their bankrolls with five-figure prizes. Seventh place finisher Peter Traply<\/strong> banked $7,154 with Bulgarian Fahredin Mustafov<\/strong> busting in sixth for an $8,801 score.<\/p>\n

Fifth place and $11,527 when to Ivan Zufic<\/strong> who won an online WSOP bracelet last summer. His wait for a POWERFEST title continues. Alex Varga<\/strong> finished in fourth and won $15,440, with the elimination of Srikant Vedutla<\/strong> in third place, a finish worth $22,493, sending the tournament into the heads-up stage.<\/p>\n

Here, Pardo Dominguez locked horns with the uber-talented Alexandros Theologis<\/strong>. The pair struck a deal to lessen the pay jumps, which meant Theologis scooped $36,172 when he fell at the final hurdle. Pardo Dominguez raked in $42,095 and exorcised the demons from that runner-up finish three years ago.<\/p>\n

Other POWERFEST Results From April 11<\/h2>\n

Team partypoker\u2019s Louise \u201clou045\u201d Butler<\/strong><\/a> got her hands on one of the POWERFEST side events\u2019 top prizes on April 11. Irish star Butler triumphed in the $55 buy-in 7-Max Deepstack Hyper Knockout<\/strong> side event and walked away with an impressive $4,549 with bounties included.<\/p>\n

Butler now has plenty of ammunition for the rest of the POWERFEST series.<\/p>\n
