The Irish Open Main Event<\/strong> smashed through its \u20ac1 million guarantee on April 4 thanks to 804 players turning out for Day 1B, the second of three scheduled opening flights. The prize pool stands at \u20ac1,626,000 with the turbo-structured Day 1C left to run at 15:05 BST on April 5.<\/p>\n

Ireland’s Marc Macdonnell<\/strong><\/a> is the man at the top of the Day 1B chip counts. The Dubliner finished his flight with a 4,275,366 stack, enough for first place from the 121 Day 1B survivors. Macdonnell’s stack is large enough for fifth-place overall, meaning he has done his chances of winning this massive event no harm at all.<\/p>\n

There was little to separate the chasing pack with 200,000 chips (around seven big blinds) between Bradley Harwood<\/strong> in second-place and Floyd Rosner<\/strong> in seventh.<\/p>\n

The Day 1B top 10 was also the home to former WPTWOC champion Daniel Smyth<\/a><\/strong>, Swedish superstar Niklas Astedt<\/strong>, and Arseniy Malinov<\/strong> of Russia.<\/p>\n

The Czech Republic as an Irish Open champion after Dalibor Dula<\/strong> clinched the JP Masters<\/strong> title on April 5. Victory came with a \u20ac24,145 prize that was bolstered by a huge \u20ac23,636 worth of bounty payments for a combined score worth \u20ac27,781.<\/p>\n

Day 2 saw the 107 survivors from 710 Day 1 entrants take to the partypoker virtual felt, each in the money places. The likes of David Lopez Llacer<\/strong>, Team partypoker’s Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a>, Team Online’s Jaime Staples<\/strong>, Bryan Paris<\/strong>, Joshua Hoesel<\/strong>, Joseph Cheong<\/strong>, and Fabio Sperling<\/strong><\/a> were among those who cashed.<\/p>\n

Former partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn and 2020 Irish Open High Roller champion Ioannis Angelou-Konstas<\/strong><\/a> was the final table’s first casualty. The Greek star secured a combined prize worth \u20ac3,731.<\/p>\n

The first five-figure prize went to Ukraine’s Volodymyr Trubanov<\/strong> who finished in seventh place. Trubanov won \u20ac4,097 from the main prize pool but also secured \u20ac8,059 worth of bounty payments along the way. Only the champion and the runner-up, Arsenii Karmatckii<\/strong>, won more bounty money.<\/p>\n
