Hungary\u2019s Andras Nemeth<\/strong> helped himself to the largest prize of the 2021 Irish Open<\/a> so far when he topped a star-studded field of 52-entrants in the \u20ac2,100 buy-in High Roller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nemeth\u2019s victory, the latest in a long, long line of impressive first-place finishes, saw him walk away with \u20ac33,688. The Hungarian superstar secured this sum when he sent Donatas Elinauskas<\/strong> to the rail in second place; the runner-up banked \u20ac20,690.<\/p>\n

Earlier at the final table, Christopher Putz<\/strong> finished in seventh-place for \u20ac4,994 with Swedish high stakes specialist Simon Mattsson<\/strong> falling in sixth for \u20ac5,803. Alexander Shalkovski<\/strong> and Ludvig Lindstrom<\/strong> were the next casualties; they collected \u20ac6,926 and \u20ac9,355 respectively.<\/p>\n

Patrick Pedersen<\/strong> of Denmark fell in third and netted the tournament\u2019s first five-figure score, namely \u20ac13,493.<\/p>\n

Baker Becomes The Hendon Mob Championships Champion<\/h2>\n

Some 233 players bought into the \u20ac265 The Hendon Mob Championships<\/strong> event and it was Philip Baker<\/strong> who was the last player standing. Baker, who calls the United Kingdom home, reeled in the \u20ac11,397 top prize after besting a final table that was the home to some superb players.<\/p>\n

Dara O\u2019Kearney<\/strong> is one such player. The popular Irishman could only muster a fifth-place finish in this event, which won O\u2019Kearney \u20ac2,715. Joshua Hoesel<\/strong> must have fancied his chances once O\u2019Kearney crashed out, but his tournament ended abruptly in third, a finish good for \u20ac5,495.<\/p>\n

Baker locked horns with the Netherlands\u2019 David Hu<\/strong> heads-up and got the job done. Hu scooped \u20ac7,995 for his bridesmaid finish, leaving Baker to get his hands on their lion\u2019s share of the prize pool.<\/p>\n
