The event is already underway – as you walk into the World Series at the Rio Convention Center, there\u2019s a big plasma flat screen showing the number of registered players, which currently stands at 2,545. This means bucks, big bucks \u2013 so far there is more than $25 million in the prize pool.<\/p>\n
Make no mistake, the 2006 WSOP is an eye-poppingly huge, a mouth-wateringly gigantic poker event\u2026with tens of thousands of players, millions of poker hands<\/a>, and in the end, probably close to a quarter-billion dollars<\/em> in prize money will be paid out.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll let you know more as things develop and the numbers take shape \u2026 so stay tuned.
