The bumper crowd of 2,422 $1 million guaranteed WPT500<\/strong> field has been whittled to the final table of nine and it is Ukrainian Andrii Novak<\/strong> who leads the finalists into battle on March 16.<\/p>\n

Novak goes into the nine-handed final table with 241,624,576 chips and is on course to secure the $181,544 top prize. Novak may be in the envious position of chip leader but he will not have matters all his own way because the chasing pack is brimming with talented poker players who have reached this thrilling final table on merit.<\/p>\n

All nine finalists hail from different countries<\/strong>, showing the WPT and poker is a truly global, cosmopolitan affair. Austrian Lukas Wimmer<\/strong> is second in chips at the restart with 190,243,207 chips at his disposal.<\/p>\n

Three other stars sit down at the virtual felt with nine-figure arsenals. Stoyan Kitanov<\/strong> of Bulgaria (175,842,504), Dylan Rowe<\/strong> from New Zealand (162,834,053), and Lithuania\u2019s Deividas Kvaselis<\/strong> (110,453,978) being that trio.<\/p>\n

Been and Adams Still In The Hunt<\/h2>\n

Further down the chip counts, but most definitely still in the hunt for WPT500 glory are the likes of Padro Padilha Chaves<\/strong> of Brazil (94,463,576), Dutch grinder David Singontiko<\/strong> (94,243,469), and Mexico-based superstar Aaron Been<\/strong> (84,330,612). Been has battled in the biggest online poker tournaments for 15 years and has in excess of $4.5 million in cashes.<\/p>\n

Brandon Adams<\/strong> is the shortest-stack going into the final table with 47,481,660 chips but it is Adams, if anyone, who can turn this around. Adams primarily plays cash games but has a superb record in high buy-in poker tournaments. To date, Adams has almost $5.2 million in live poker tournament winnings and will be a major threat if he manages to accumulate some chips early on.<\/p>\n

Recent WPT500 Festival Side Event Results<\/h2>\n

There have been some incredible results in WPT500 series side events while the $1 million guaranteed WPT500 8-Max event was progressing to its final table.<\/p>\n

Andras Nemeth<\/strong><\/a> helped himself to a $107,282 prize by taking down the $5,200 High Roller Event<\/strong>. David Peters<\/strong><\/a> triumphed in the $3,200 6-Max High Roller<\/strong> and walked away with a $50,532 prize.<\/p>\n

A special mention has to go to Karim Maekelberg<\/strong> who won the $215 7-Max Turbo<\/strong> for $6,768 and followed that up with victory in the $215 6-Max Turbo Knockout<\/strong> for an additional $6,761.<\/p>\n
