Pascal Lefrancois<\/strong> told the partypoker blog that winning the MILLIONS Online Main Event<\/strong> would be \u201cthe cherry on top of a very good year<\/a>\u201d. He warmed himself up nicely for a Day 1B run on February 28 by taking down the $5,200 Omaha High Roller<\/strong> event last night for $84,220.<\/p>\n

Fifty-two players bought into the MILLIONS Online #15 Omaha High Roller<\/strong>, which meant the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool was beaten by $60,000. Only the top nine finishers got their hands on a slice of this sum so spare a thought for Espen Myrmo<\/strong> who fell in 10th place, burst the bubble, and was the last player to finish the tournament empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Swedish sensation Niklas Astedt<\/strong> crashed out in ninth, and Maximilian Lehmanski<\/strong> in eighth, the latter\u2019s exit setting the final table.<\/p>\n

Former WPTWOC Main Event champion Phil Mighall<\/strong><\/a> was the final table\u2019s first casualty. Mighall\u2019s seventh-place finish netting him $12,486. Andreas Torbergsen<\/strong> busted in sixth for $14,508 before Aku Joentausta<\/strong> saw his tournament end in a fifth-place finish and collected $17,316.<\/p>\n

Brazilian pro Dante Fernandes<\/strong><\/a> took down an Omaha High Roller last week and padded his bankroll with $61,025. Fernandes came close to securing another PLO title in this event, but ultimately had to make do with fourth-place prize money, $23,389.<\/p>\n

Joni Jouhkimainen fell in second place.<\/p><\/div>\n

Heads-up was set when Russian pro Sergei Vasilev<\/strong> busted in third, a finish worth $33,733. Vasilev\u2019s exit left Lefrancois and Team partypoker\u2019s Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong><\/a> as the only players in the hunt for the $84,220 prize.<\/p>\n

The prize difference of almost $33,000 didn\u2019t bother these two Goliaths and they played on to the death without a deal in place. The lack of deal meant Jouhkimainen banked $51,725 when Lefrancois defeated him, leaving Lefrancois to secure the $84,220 top prize and all the glory.<\/p>\n

Nemeth Triumphs in Mini Omaha High Roller<\/h2>\n

The Mini Omaha High Roller<\/strong> cost $530 to enter and 106 partypoker parted company with that sum in the hope they\u2019d become a MILLIONS Online champion.<\/p>\n

We were hopeful of a Team partypoker player taking down this tournament because Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a> cemented his seat at the final table when former WPTWOC champion Gavin Cochrane<\/strong><\/a> crashed out in eighth-place.<\/p>\n

Two Dutch grinders in Marcus Dieleman<\/strong> and Jasper Wijbenga<\/strong> were the first players to be relieved of their stack at the seven-handed final table. Robert Woodcock<\/strong> followed suit in fifth, before Leonard ran out of luck and headed for the showers with a fourth-place finish, worth $4,242, to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

Ian Bradley can be proud of his third-place finish. It must have been a tough time being four-handed with Leonard, Ami Barer<\/strong>, and Andras Nemeth<\/strong><\/a>! Bradley walked away with his head held high and with $6,157 in prize money.<\/p>\n

Barer and Nemeth fought it out heads-up for the title and either would have been a worthy champion. Only one person can win a poker tournament, Nemeth was that person this time around. The Hungarian superstar scooped $13,239, leaving Barer to console himself with an $8,820 runner-up score.<\/p>\n
