Most poker players set themselves monetary goals at the start of each year. It seems like the natural thing to do. If \u201cupeshka\u201d<\/strong> has done this, they have already made some major inroads into achieving their goal because they padded their bankroll with more than $51,500 this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cupeshka\u201d came out on top of the $320 buy-in New Year Kick Off<\/strong> event, a $300,000 guaranteed affair that saw $428,100 paid out<\/strong>. The champion secured $27,105 from the main prize pool plus an additional bounty payment weighing in at $24,429 for a superb score.<\/p>\n

One of our own narrowly missed out on a final table appearance. Team Online\u2019s Matthew \u201cMatthewStaples\u201d Staples<\/strong><\/a> ran out of steam in ninth-place. This saw Staples walk away with almost $3,800.<\/p>\n

All seven finalists saw at least $7,600 hit their partypoker accounts, with the top five finishers reeling in five-figure prizes.<\/p>\n

\u201chostile\u201d<\/strong> banked the first of these before \u201cM0ng0lit0\u201d<\/strong> fell in fourth for $17,725. Third place went to \u201csummasummarum\u201d<\/strong> which was worth $22,253 before \u201cThomasMorstead\u201d<\/strong> crashed out in second place, a finish good for $33,234.<\/p>\n

KO Series #07 \u2013 Mini New Year Kick Off Final Table Results<\/h2>\n

The $33 buy-in Mini New Year Kick Off<\/strong> event had a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool but it completely blew that out of the water. An impressive $172,110 was distributed<\/strong> in this KO Series<\/a> event and \u201cRogerioCeni\u201d<\/strong> got their hands on the lion\u2019s share, namely $14,909, a chunky score for a $33 investment.<\/p>\n

RogerioCeni swept aside \u201cMKp0kk3r\u201d<\/strong> in the heads-up clash at the end of the event. The runner-up, while disappointed not to become a KO Series champion, walked away with $11,067 reasons to be happy with their performance.<\/p>\n

Nobody at the final table padded their bankrolls with less than $2,100 which is pretty cool for a $33 buy-in PKO tournament and shows how profitable PKO events can be if you go deep in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cyoungrich99\u201d<\/strong> lived up to their alias after taking down the $3.30 Micro New Year Kick Off<\/strong> event. First-place in this tournament saw $844 hit the champion\u2019s account plus an additional $575 bounty payment for a combined score of $1,419. That prize is the equivalent of 430 buy-ins<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

The champion defeated \u201cwim2011\u201d<\/strong> heads-up for the title and resigned the runner-up to a combined consolation prize worth $914, which is still a very healthy return on a $3.30 initial investment. KO Series Events Scheduled for January 4<\/h2>\n

There is plenty of KO Series action taking place on January 4<\/strong>. The huge One Shot<\/strong><\/a> events conclude today after shuffling up and dealing at 19:05 GMT.<\/p>\n
