\u201cBridget_Jones\u201d<\/strong> became a KO Series<\/strong> champion on January 2 by taking down the $11 buy-in 8-Max<\/strong> event, turning that $11 into almost $2,700. If that isn\u2019t worth an entry into Bridget Jones\u2019 diary we don\u2019t know what is.<\/p>\n

A bumper crowd of 2,543 players bought in for $11 resulting in the $20,000 guarantee being smashed by $5,430. Half that sum went onto the heads of each of the entrants with the remaining 50% shared among the top 399 finishers.<\/p>\n

The top 11 finishers won at least three figures, with the top three players padding their bankrolls with four-figures sums.<\/p>\n

\u201cProf. Pequi\u201d<\/strong> was the eight-handed final table\u2019s first casualty. Eighth place weighed in at a combined $337, a decent return on an $11 investment.<\/p>\n

\u201cJayy72172\u201d<\/strong> was the next to fall before \u201cBig Div\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cDirty Bambi\u201d<\/strong> left only four players in the hunt for the title, including the hapless Bridget_Jones.<\/p>\n

Fourth-place and $669 went to \u201cdanpaul09\u201d<\/strong> with the elimination of \u201cz1gr7\u201d<\/strong> sending the tournament into the heads-up stage. Z1gr7 walked away with $956 from the main prize pool and $351 worth of bounties for a combined score worth $1,307.<\/p>\n

Bridget_Jones is used to things going wrong in the films bearing the same name, but there was no bridesmaid finish here. \u201cPapaCarlo19\u201d<\/strong> busted in second-place for $2,042 leaving Bridget_Jones to secure a $2,691 top prize.<\/p>\n
