He raised to 1,260,000 during the 300,000/600,000/75,000a level with . Vousden flopped a set and improved to a full house on the river, resigning Fernandes to a €21,661 prize.

Cooler Sends Deinlein To The Showers

Michael Deinlein was the next player to bust. He won a big coinflip with ace-jack against Anton Siden pocket eights, but couldn’t put those chips to good use. His tournament ended during the 350,000/700,000/87,500a level. Siden led for 6,969,525 and Deinlein called. The river brought the into play and Siden greeted it with an all-in bet that covered Deinlein’s 20317,335 stack. Deinlein eventually called with his wheel and crashed out when Siden flipped over his seven-high straight.

Van Der Beek was the next casualty of the final table, falling at the hands of Vousden. Vousden min-raised to 1,600,000 from the cutoff with , Van Der Beek called in the small blind with . Van Der Beek checked the arrival of the before calling a pot-sized bet of 7,640,000. The completed the board and Van Der Beek checked for a third time. Vousden ripped it in, his stack covering Van Der Beek’s by the narrowest of margins. Van Der Beek obviously didn’t believe the Finn’s story because he called all-in and that was the end of his Main Event.

There was still time for the final table to lose another player before the end of the blind level. Canada’s Julien Perouse was that player. Perouse banked €45,290 for his fifth-place finish.

Short Stack Siden Heads To The Showers

Fourth-place and €66,267 went to Siden but it took 3.5 hours of four-handed play before he busted. Siden found himself down to 4.25 big blinds and committed those from the button with . Despite this, Vousden was the next player eliminated.

Blinds were now a colossal 1,000,000/2,000,000/250,000a. The 2018 MILLIONS Online champion Manuel Ruivo opened to 4,120,000 on the button with and called the 16,000,000 three-bet from Vousden, which the Finn made from the small blind with . He decided his best play was to over-bet shove for twice the size of the pot. Ruivo thought all his Christmases had come once and beat Vousden into the pot. No miracle runner-runner for Vousden and we were now heads-up.

A Fitting Conclusion To An Epic Event

Ruivo held a massive 213,940,000 to 54,260,000 lead over Kassouf but the contest was far from over. Kassouf managed to draw level but it took a while before he managed to claim the chip lead. Even when he led, Kassouf couldn’t quite shake off Ruivo.

That was until a few pots went Kassouf’s way and the tables were completely turned. The final hand saw Kassouf raise to 8,592,600 at the 1,500,000/3,000,000/375,000a level, Ruivo three-bet all-in for 57,857,400 and Kassouf call.
