PartyPoker.com Tournaments

Tournaments are a great way to cash in on big jackpotsfor low entry fees! Your buy-in is pooled with all the other players buy-ins (sometimes with those on other tables). So, if you win a slice of the final pot, you can make some serious money.

Now, unlike regular games where you stop playing and cash out whenever you want to, in a tournament you play until you are eliminated or until you walk away as the winner.

Tournament Basics

Each tournament has a buy-in and a fee (e.g. $150 buy-in and $12 fee). The buy-in goes into the prize pool and the fee goes to the tournament organizer. The Dealer position is decided by the deal of a random card.

The prize pool is paid out to the winners according to the tournament payout structure. Tournaments are normally played as freeze outs, where players are not allowed to re-buy.

Each player starts with the same number of chips and aims to amass as many chips as possible. Players who lose their chips must leave the tournament. Players are gradually eliminated until there is only one person left the winner!

Tournament Formats

Single table tournaments

These tournaments have just one table, consisting of 10 players. Find out more about our single table tournaments.

Multi-table tournaments (or collapsible tournaments)

In these types of tournaments, many players participate on several tables. Play begins on each table at the same time. Players are ejected from the tournament, and tables are combined (or 'collapsed') until finally there is just one table remaining. Find out more about our multi-table tournaments.

STEPS tournaments

STEPS tournaments are available 24/7 and either single table or multi-table. There are five steps to the top, which can either be reached by winning a game and a freeroll to the next step or by buying in directly to a particular level. You can buy in for as little as $6.

Freerolls

Tournaments without a buy-in or fee. Currently, we offer various Players Club freerolls that you can enter using your PartyPoker.com Party Points. New players can join our New Player Lucky Dollar freeroll tournament for only $1.

Shootouts

A multi-table tournament with either 1, 2, 3 or 4 rounds depending on the number of players. They offer more payouts, shorter tournaments and more fun! Simply visit the main PartyPoker.com lobby to register for a Shootout now.

Lobby

You'll find tournaments in the left-hand side of the lobby. The PartyPoker.com Million has its own tab; 'Sit and Go' tournaments are divided into 'Single' and 'Multi-table tournaments' and 'Scheduled' tournaments are found under the Tournaments tab. The tab 'Special tournaments' includes qualifiers for larger events and Players Club Freerolls.
