Paigow Poker
Game Plan:
Paigow Poker is a blend of games from two cultures - Paigow, a game
played using tiles by the Chinese, along with the traditional American
Poker card game.To win at Paigow Poker, both the player’s hands (the highest and the second) should be at a higher position in comparison to the two hands of the dealer. The player is dealt a total of seven cards from which two poker hands are made - one comprising five cards (highest hand) and the other comprising two cards (second highest).
Both the highest and the second highest hands are ranked as it is done in poker. So, the highest hand with two cards is an Ace pair while with five cards it is a total of five Aces (four Aces along with a Joker). The hands of the player are evaluated against the two hands of the dealer and the payout is calculated.

- Whether real money or play money is being used, the rules of the game and the payouts remain the same.

Rules of the Game:
Seven cards are dealt to the player as well as the dealer. The player receives the cards face-up while the dealer gets the cards face-down.
Once the player gets seven cards, the cards are divided into two hands, one set of five cards form the highest hand and the other two cards form the second highest hand.
The two cards forming the second highest hand are chosen by clicking on the two cards. Once the player selects the second highest hand, these two cards will be placed in the area termed ‘SECOND HIGHEST’ and the cards forming the highest hand is placed in the bottom. After the selection, the face-down cards of the dealer are turned around to reveal the cards which will also be distributed as highest and the second highest hands.
The hand formation of the dealer’s cards is governed by house rules which are elaborated below. Both the dealer’s hands and the player’s hands are compared to get the result.
The Joker in the pack is to be used as an Ace only or as a wild card to help complete a straight, a flush, a straight flush or a royal flush in either of the hands.
The highest hand of the player and the dealer is compared.
Likewise, the second highest hand of the player and the dealer is compared.
The result of the game is shown at the bottom of the screen.
- The player loses the wager if both his hands, highest hand and second highest hand are lower in comparison to the dealer’s hands.
- The player retains the bet amount if he wins one hand (either highest or second highest) and the second is lost. The results are displayed through a message.
- The player loses the bet if both his hands are totally identical to the dealer’s hands (known as a copy). The results are displayed through a message.
- The player retains the bet amount if he wins one hand and the other is a tie.
- The player loses the bet, if he loses one hand and the other is a tie.
- If the player’s highest hand is lower in strength than his second highest hand the bet is deemed ‘Foul’ and the bet is lost by the player.
Comparison of Hands:
Highest Hand – Five Aces (The Aces of all suits and the Joker) is considered the highest. The combination of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10 is the highest when it comes to straights followed by Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 considered second highest. If the ranking of the player’s and the dealer’s hands are the same, the cards with the higher value are considered the higher hand. For example, three Queens is higher in value than three 10s. If the ranking of the player’s and the dealer’s hands are the same, the next card determines the higher hand. For example, if the player has two 10s and an Ace and the dealer is holding two 10s and a King, the player is the winner. The comparisons do not take into account the suit of the cards. If the Joker is used in the combination, it takes on the value of the higher card (for example- Joker, J, 10, 9, 8 and not J, 10, 9, 8, Joker. Joker takes the value of Queen and not 7).
Second Highest Hand – Two Aces is the highest for the second highest hand. If the ranking of the second highest hand of both the player and the dealer is the same, the highest hand is the one with the higher card value. For example, a Jack pair is higher than a 10 pair. If the ranking of the player’s and the dealer’s hands are the same, the next card determines the higher hand. For example, if the player holds an Ace and a King and the dealer has an Ace and a Jack, the winner is the player as the King is higher than the Jack. The comparisons do not take into account the suit of the cards.
House Rules:
The Second highest hand is referred to as ‘Front’ and the highest hand is referred to as ‘Back’.
No Pair – The second highest and the third highest is used in the front.
Single Pair – The pair is used in the back and the highest among the rest is used in the front.
Two Pairs – The two pairs are split and used in the back and front. This is not followed in these three cases:
- The two pairs are 6’s and lower.
- The two pairs are 10’s and lower with one Ace. In such cases, the Ace is used in the Front with the second highest card.
- If one of the pairs is a face card and the other is 5’s or lower and a single Ace, then the Ace is placed in the front.
Three pair – The highest pair in used in the front.
Three of a kind – In such a case, these three cards are used in the back the exception to the rule being three Aces. If three Aces are held, two are used in the back while the third is used in the front.
Two sets of Three of a kind - Two cards from the higher Three of a kind is used in the front.
Straight and Flush:
A straight or a flush is usually used in the back or is used as two pairs in the given possibilities:
Ace pairs
10s Pair or higher.
10s Pair or lower with one Ace. The two pair exception rule is employed. The pairs are used in the back and the Ace is used in the front with the highest card among the others. The Ace is not used in the back.
If a Joker is held, the Joker is first used to form a straight flush, straight or a flush before other combinations are tried.
A straight flush is preferred to a straight or a flush and is used in the back.
- Full House – This needs to be split barring situations with a 2 pair with an Ace or a King that is to be used in the front.
- Full House holding three of a kind and two pairs – The highest pair is used in the front.
- Four of a Kind – These are used according to their values:
- 2 to 6 - They are to be retained together.
- 7 to 10 – These are split except when an Ace or another high value card can form a better combination in the front.
- Jack to King - These are split except when another pair of face cards are present to be used in the front.
- Aces – These are split except when there is another pair higher or equal to 7 that can be used in the front.
- Straight flush – A straight flush is used in the back or used as two pairs in the following possibilities:
- Ace pairs
- 10s Pair or higher.
- 10s Pair or lower with an Ace.
- Royal flush - A royal is used in the back or used as two pairs in the following possibilities.
- Aces and another pair.

Reloading Party Account
Continue firing up any game by adding more funds to your PartyAccount balance. There are three simple options for reloading. The first is by going to the ‘Cashier’ menu, then look for the ‘Deposit’ button that will then guide you to the next step. If you are in the middle of a game and there is a need to reload, the second alternative is the best one for you. There is a ‘Rebuy’ button that is found on every game screen that will take you to the deposit options. The last one could be done in ‘My Account’ section found in the left portion of the main page. Click on the ‘Real Balance’ button and then follow the instructions.
Remember that each option is different in terms of the length of time the fund transfer takes place and the additional charge that goes with the process. Also take note that you can’t add any funds while you are in the middle of any game so it is advisable to check your party account before starting any game.
Reaching Bet Limits
There is a possibility that during the Game you may encounter the need to reload your PartyAccount balance because it is below the limit of minimum bet allowed. All you have to do is to click the ‘Rebuy’ button that will allow you to buy credits. You can also go to the Cashier menu and choose ‘Deposit’ that will then take you to the next process. There is also a ‘Cashier’ button in every “Buy-in” window that can be found in any screen of an ongoing game. The ‘Real Balance’ in the ‘My Account’ section in the left panel in main lobby can also do the job.
Disconnected or Halted Game
In case the game is suddenly disconnected, don’t worry because the software will automatically finish the game for you. You can check the status by logging back again then look for the 'Gamelogs' button. You can also check the balance of your PartyAccount that reflects the result.
If your game is halted while you are playing in feature round, you can finish it by logging in again. After completing the feature round, you can then continue playing the same game or start another game of your choice
