It’s a good payday for the young player, but it’s not a Final Eight one. Despite having a big stack (a million or so at the start of the hand) it all got in preflop in a snowball of reraising vs. Theo Jorgensen.
Boujenah made it 45k to go, and Jorgensen in the cutoff reraised to 145k. Back to Boujenah who clearly wasn’t in the mood to be pushed around by the one chip monster at the table. He thought for a moment and announced, “500,000.” “Well, might as well be all in then,” said Jorgensen, and Boujenah called.
Jorgensen showed down pocket jacks, and Boujenah ace-nine. The board brought no ace for Boujenah, and he has been eliminated from the 2010 WPT Paris. Play is complete for the night and we’ll be back with you on Saturday for the final table.
WorldPokerTour.com and PokerNews.com will have all the updates.

Nine players remain here at the 2010 WPT Paris, and Jacque Williams recently caught up with Per Linde to chat about his thoughts on the event.

We’ve finally lost a player, and it’s Quinn Sivage finishing the 2010 WPT paris in 10th place. He got it all in with top-pair and a gut-shot straight draw against the pocket aces of Fabrice Touil. Players are now combining to one, nine-handed table. We’ve got one more player to lose before we hit the official final table.

Another hour passed here at the 2010 WPT Paris and no bust-outs. In fact the shortest stack at the table actually just doubled up.
Nourredine Aïtaleb woke up from his poker coma for long enough to push all-in for about 200,000 with ace-king, only to get called by Arnaud Mattern who had pocket kings. Both the flop and turn brought an ace, sending the timely double up to Aïtaleb.
Nearing six hours since an elimination, no-one seems to be amused.

Patrick Bruel and Alexander Kravchenko have both been eliminated from the 2010 WPT Paris. On an eight-high flop, Bruel was happy to call the all-in push from Ilan Boujenah with pocket tens to find he was well ahead of the ace-high bluff from Boujenah. An unlucky ace hit the river sending the French celebrity to the rail.
Kravchenko, on the other hand was behind from the start with pocket fives against the pocket sixes of Mr. Boujenah and could get no help from the flop, turn or river.

After two levels of play at the 2010 WPT Grand Prix de Paris the stacks are still fairly tame. One of the more interesting table features Freddy Deeb, Patrick Bruel and Isabelle Mercier. Jonathan Layani looks to be the early leader with a double-sized starting stack, sitting at about 60,000 in chips. He is followed closely by Theo Jorgensen who has about 55,000 and Alexander Kravchenko who has about 41,000.

Day 1A at the WPT Paris is in the books, and when all was said and done it looks to be Fabrice Tuil who holds the chip lead with 190,000. Just over 100 entrants in total made their way to the ultra-exclusive Aviation Club de France, which requires players to get finger printed in order to gain access for today’s day one flight. With ninety minute levels, and 30,000 in chips there was plenty of play for the 53 players who survived to see day 2.
The less fortunate, who will be spending the rest of their time in Paris sight seeing were Ludovic Lacay, Allan Baekke, Praz Bansi, Michael Tureniec, Oliver Busquet, Nicholas Levy and Roberto Romanello.
22.29

Also still in the mix is Arnaud Mattern, who the WPT’s own Jacque WIlliams caught up with after the second level.
Not faring quite as well were Praz Bansi and Michael Tureniec, who both joined the twenty or so players who have been eliminated on the rail.

Day 1a of the 2010 World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris is underway here at the Aviation Club de France , located directly in the heart of Paris.
The room is pretty cozy in here with the players literally on the tables next to us in three very crowded rooms. The players are filtering in down a narrow corridor and gradually getting into the tournament meaning we won’t be starting just yet.
Obviously the cream of France are going to be playing today and so far we’ve spotted, Ludovic Lacay, Arnaud Mattern Rui Cao and Nicolas Levi. Also seen are Alex Kravchenko, John Kabbaj and Shane Schleger who are also looking to lift this prestigious WPT title.
Here is are some chip counts of some notables after a few hours of play:
Sorel Mizzi – 68,000
Jim Collopy – 64,000
Michel Abecassis – 44,000
Shane Schleger – 38,000
Arnaud Mattern – 33,000
