Well I’m back home from the ANZPT event on the Gold Coast and it didn’t go so well. I can’t really remember ever playing a day of poker where I’ve been so card dead. It’s been a few weeks since my last blog post. I’ve been back in Sydney during that time and just been living my regular non-poker life. I’ve played a bit of online poker, with the APT Manila bounty event a couple of weeks ago where Tony G and I each had a $320 package on our heads.

The bubble burst in the main event last night giving me my second main event cash in as many played.
When I cashed a couple years ago I had an above average stack and got a hold of a lot of chips around the bubble. This time, I squeaked into the money with less chips than I started the event with.

I’ve gone 0/5 so far and am not really too fussed. I’m pretty happy with the way I’ve been playing and with tournament poker you can’t ask for more than that.
The last event I entered was the 10k pot-limit hold’em championship. The tables were quite tough overall, but every table I was at featured at least 1 or 2 good spots to get chips.

Well I’ve arrived in Vegas and played a couple of WSOP events – the $2500 6max and the $10k limit hold’em. Neither went particularly well and I went out just before dinner in the 6max event and after dinner in the limit hold’em.

I ended up coming 7th in the lead-in event. The structure, which was quite good on the 1st day, went into super-turbo mode for the final table.
Still, I was going quite nicely and had a good shot at one stage, but when the average stack is around 10x the big blind, you can usually only lose one hand. Or a couple, as is the case with the following gem:
