Hello all and Happy New Year :)
I hope you had a great Holiday, wherever you were. It seemed like half the world was snowed in! We were in Tahoe doing a bit of skiing and celebrating Christmas and it was really lovely to see a bit of snow again.
The place we were staying had no internet and I think this was the first week for maybe 10 years where I didn’t have any real access to the online world – except via a really shaky 3G connection on my phone.
It was quite refreshing actually but I’m glad to be back home now and firmly back in connection with the outside world.
I’ve got a few weeks at home now to rest up from a crazy November/December before heading out on my next trip. I’ll be in Biloxi for the Southern Poker Championship WPT event towards the end of January and am looking forward to getting back to playing some poker.
I’m off to make myself a killer espresso to help me face unpacking the fully packed car. I swear, having a dog means carrying so much gear on trips that she might as well be a child. I have a sneaking suspicion that we spoil her…
I had a great holiday and spent a lot of time just kicking back with friends. We had a few people over on the 31st to eat heaps of food, drink a huge amount rum in coconuts and hang out. I think my favourite part of it all was waking up to waffles and eggs on the first day of 2011 and then spending a whole day in pyjamas playing board games with friends. Rock and roll, I tell you. Rock and roll.
I’ve never been one for resolutions but there is something invigorating about checking in at the end of each year, seeing what went well and which things might need a bit of tweaking before the next New Year hits. I think 2011 is going to be a crazy busy year. I thought 2010 was pretty full but so far, this year has hit the ground running.
I hope you all had a great time at the tables over the past few weeks and here’s to some great New Year’s Luck for all of us! I hope you all have a fabulous 2011!
