Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. PartyPoker sent me to Dublin, Ireland this week for a short 24 hours to do a few interviews and talk about the first ever World Poker Tour event which will be held there in January 2012.
I’ve always loved Dublin but have never managed to have enough time to explore it properly. My plan for January is to get here with some friends in time to celebrate the New Year, Irish style before resting up to play the Main Event on the 5th.
Ireland is well known as one of the major centres for European poker and has held events from all sorts of tours and stand alone tournaments there. The CityWest in particular is a popular venue for poker players who love to get a bit of golf in before sitting down at the felt for the day and the hotel bar is pretty much packed from the moment it opens to the moment it closes. Dublin’s events tend to be big on fun!
In the meantime though, I’ve returned back to the USA for a few weeks to recover from a long trip to Europe and get ready for the next big push. I’ll be back in London working for PartyPoker in November – no point in even unpacking my suitcase!
I hope that you’re all enjoying the lovely Autumn sunshine and I’ll see you at the tables!
