August is traditionally a month off for poker

Posted by Kara Scott in Kara Scott on August 17, 2011

The poker calendar is becoming an ever-crowded document and sometimes it seems like new tours and events popping up all over the place.

August is traditionally a month off for poker. It was the bit of space to breath between licking our wounds after the World Series of Poker and bracing ourselves to dive back into the Autumn tournaments.

While that’s not the case anymore (and even now there seem to be numerous final table updates from different events clogging up twitter) I’m definitely taking the month away from poker.

I spent a week in Vegas hanging out with some friends but to be honest, the heat really got to me and I ended up driving back to California early. Just in time for my birthday actually and I’m glad I came back as my friends were really lovely about celebrating with lots of dinners and drinks.

I certainly feel spoiled. In a week I’m leaving for some family time in Canada and I really can’t wait. I don’t get back to see my family as often as I’d like and spending some time just hanging out with everyone is just what the doctor ordered.

I hope you’re all having a great summer too!
