- Play right in your browser – if you have an older computer, you won't have to spend time downloading the full application
- The 'lite' Java version loads faster – if you've got a slow connection to the Internet, you'll spend less time waiting to jump from the Lobby to a table
- Requires less memory, which means it should work faster on older and slower computers

10. Why doesn't PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta open
when I click the 'Launch Application' button?
A. There could be several reasons why this is happening:
Option 1: Check the list of browsers above to make sure your browser is supported.
Option 2: Check to make sure Javascript is enabled on your machine. To do this, go to 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' ('Options' in Firefox). Under the 'Security' tab ('Advanced' > 'Security’ in Firefox), click 'Custom Level' and change the 'Active Scripting' setting to 'Enable'.
Step-by-step guide for Internet Explorer:
1. Go to the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.
2. Select 'Internet Options'.
3. Select the 'Security' tab.
4. Select the 'Internet' icon.
5. Click on the 'Custom Level...' button.
6. In the Security Settings window, under Scripting, enable
'Active scripting', 'Allow paste operations via script' and 'Scripting of Java
applets'.
11. Why can I open the application but not play
it?
A. There could be several reasons why this is happening.
Option 1:
Ensure that you have the correct version of Java (IBM JVM, Sun JVM 1.4 and
higher) installed on your computer. View the full list of supported Java versions.
Option 2:
Ensure that you have the Java Runtime Environment installed. If you don't, or
you'd like to update it, you can download a new version of
the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) for free. Once on the Sun site, look for a
link to 'Download JRE 5.0 Update 6'. Select the download that is appropriate
for your operating system and Java will be installed on your computer. (For
most users, this option will be the first or second of the available
choices.)
When asked, choose 'Run', and the download will begin. It may take a while for
the full version to install. Once the software has downloaded, you will need to
restart your computer.
Option 3:
If Java is installed, please check to see that Java is enabled on your
computer. To do this:
1. Go to the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.
2. Select 'Internet Options'.
3.Select the 'Security tab'.
4.Click on the 'Custom Level...' button.
5. Scroll down to the Microsoft VM section. (Depending on your
system configuration, this section may have a different title. If that's the
case, please look for the Java permissions section. If you don't see a section
like that, you may not have Java on your computer. Check option 2 in this
question to learn how to install Java.)
6. Select 'Medium' or 'Low' safety
7. Select the 'Advanced' tab.
8. Scroll down to any installed Java on your machine and
select one (your settings should correspond to one of the images below).
or
If this does not help, please email info@PartyPoker.com. Describe in detail the problem you're having, the type of computer you're using, your operating system, and anything else you may feel is important.
12. Why can't I see pop-up messages when I use
PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta?
A. Your pop-up blocker may be on. You can change your settings
to allow pop-ups from just PartyPoker.com. Here's how:
For Internet Explorer users:
1. Go to the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.
2. Select 'Internet Options'.
3. Select the 'Privacy' tab.
4. In the Pop-up Blocker section, click the 'Settings…' button
(if this is not available, you will need to check the Block pop-ups box and the
'Settings…' button will become active).
5. Enter www.PartyPoker.com in the 'Address of Web
site to allow' text box, and click 'Add'.
For Firefox users:
1. Go to the Tools menu in Firefox.
2. Select ‘Options'.
3. Select the 'Content' tab.
4. Check the 'Block Popup windows' option and click on
'Allowed Sites'.
5. Enter http://www.partypoker.com in the 'Address
of web site’ text box and click 'Allow'.
6. Check that www.partypoker.com has been added to the
list of web sites that are allowed to open popup windows, then click the
'Close' button. You should now be able to see popup messages from
PartyPoker.com. If you are still having problems, please contact our Customer Care team.
You can un-check the 'Block pop-ups' box. This will allow pop-ups from any site to appear on your computer. However, we do not recommend this as it might compromise your system security.
13. I use Safari on a Mac. What else do I need in
order to play using PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta?
A. The Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ) 2.2.5 needs to be
installed on your computer. Do a file search for 'MRJ'. If you cannot find it,
you can download it directly from Apple. Your browser needs to be
configured to use the MRJ to run Java applets. This is done from the 'Java'
controls in 'Settings'.
14. How do I get PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta to
work on a Mac using Mac OS X?
A. The PartyPoker.com Anywhere version works with Mac OS X 10
or later, together with Safari 1.0 or later, or Mozilla 1.5 or later. No
special settings are required for Mac OS X.
15. I am a Mac user. How do I
right-click?
A. The equivalent for 'right-click' for Apple users is to hold
on (Ctrl) + mouseclick. This works on our site for removing casino chips from
the table, etc.
16. Why don't the drop-down menus close on my
Mac?
A. We are aware of this behavior on the Mac and are working to
provide a solution. In the meantime, please hit your 'Esc' key to close the
drop-down.
17. How long will the download take with my
connection?
A. Estimated downloading time for the PartyPoker.com Anywhere
version is:
Dial-up: 2-3 minutes
DSL: 30-60 seconds
Cable: 10-30 seconds
18. Why does PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta
significantly increase the memory requirements of my Firefox
browser?
The fact that Firefox requires additional memory to open new browser windows is
a known issue (more details). We are doing what we can to minimize the
amount of memory that our Beta version requires when running in Firefox.
However, we have no control over their software.
19. When I click on any menu item in Firefox, it
opens the link in the same page and the Lobby disappears. Why is
this?
If you are running the Beta version in a Firefox browser, you may encounter
this problem. To avoid this, you can change your Firefox preferences/options to
open the PartyPoker.com Beta version in a new window.
Here's how:
1. Go to the Options (Windows) or
Preferences (Mac) tab in your browser.
Windows:
Mac:
2. Under the section 'Open links from other applications in:',
select 'a new window' or 'a new tab in the most recent window'.
20. I am using Windows ME and Firefox 1.5. and
when I open a table and scroll on the chat options the client
closes.
We are aware of this behaviour and are working to provide a solution. You will
still be able to play at the tables. In the meantime, please refrain from using
the dealer chat option until a solution is available.
21. Why do I get a message in IE 7.0 warning me
that 'there is a problem with this website’s security certificate' when trying
to access the cashier deposit page?
Security settings in the new Internet Explorer 7.0 are stricter than that of
previous versions and may warn you that our secure certificates are not
trusted. It is safe to select the 'Continue to the website (Not Recommended)'
option as our security certificates have not changed.
